As I understand it;

Openwolfing is just playing the game and not caring that people are aware that you are scum. Kinda like if you were a scum treestump. You just don't care that people know you're scum- what are they gonna do about it? Eliminate you? Actually being immortal is entirely optional.

Lolcatting is just posting random crap usually before you die because funny. Generally speaking, I would say that both mortality and impending doom are required.
