yea like my logic playing this setup prior to this forum game has always been to just vibe check the 3 small hood players and get the player who's vibes are the worst voted out. guarantees a final 3 even in the worst case scenario.

issue is even if you get lucky and bink the right person day 1, you then have only that day of associations to go off of. doesn't mean as much irl cause it's not like everyone's comments/votes are listed it's a lot more about fast-paced social reads, but i realise now on forum that it's not like we're in a race against time where we just wanna guarantee the most days, we just need to make each day as valuable as possible for info alongside hopefully getting mafia out.

Like if the expectation is that the small hood gets the focus, and you know that you're a player who is often hovering in danger of mislims Day 1, why would that be a good idea? The only answer I find is the WIFOM angle.
this is interesting because - is that actually the expectation of the small hood? i feel like this setup's been ran enough that people who are familiar with it know that you can autowin on D1 which is an alluring choice.
afaik el's played this setup irl with me a lot and there the expectation is that the small hood is murdered every time. i only realised that going for the other hood might be good after this game started.
I do not remember playing this setup ever
fr? that's crazy we've played it a good number of times at mafia. guess you weren't there then lol, my point dissipates :(
what do you make of the fact I've said the opposite of what you've said about me picking hoods?
it's cringe but we move. weakens the point cause if you're applying the opposite logic you're exactly where you wanna be lmao

After reading the setup my first thought was to fade in the small hood because I liked the odds but fading in the big hood is definitely more intriguing

it feels like a double edge sword, if we fade in the big group we can win, but we also only get assosiatives with 3 players? (kinda, not really but you get what I mean) But limmin in the small group we can get 6 assosiatives to look at ya know?

Yeah I see what you're saying. You've been pretty adamant about wanting to fade in the big group though. I'm kinda surprised to see you more on the fence about it now

Why did Meuh drop out of your townreads btw? I just noticed that

meuh said that limming in small hood there is the upside of being a higher chance of hitting scum, but the downside being that there's still a wide pool to look through for associatives, and if we focused on the small hood there might not be many anyway

i do not understand what elements was trying to say, the logic feels backwards

I still want to vote in the big group day 1
but i can see the merits of voting the small groups

the intial town reasoning for our early interaction feeling fun town is still there, but nothing since has pinged green to me so the read has slipped

right I am back, thanks for the kind words given. I am about to do what I generally always end up doing because of my TZ, which is read through everything I have missed and then post loads. Sorry but it really is the way I end up playing this game. It sort of makes me divorced from the chat which I hate, but on occasions in the evening when I am bored I get to interact live. Anyway waitout incoming posts, maybe in 20 to 30 minutes as there is a shed load to read, note and possibly comment on.

Now, I need to round out my chat with Ari,
In post 252, Aristeia wrote: It's very easy to say behavior A is scum motivated because of ___ if you don't really consider what a person does when they're town.
OK, yes I see that, possibly in newer players. But what about players with some time in? especially those that are very good at staying Town when not, If you don’t know them then how can you tell? For example, how Dann can seem so town and yet be scum playing everyone, that’s from my, limited experience. but based on the comments here about Deepwolf I am guessing most have had similar experiences with him. Plus, all I can do is read posts like the one you highlighted and consider both sides of what may or may not be said. I don’t know any of you to be frank and I am still finding my way in this game so forgive me if I have no idea how scum you or town you would phrase something.

Although that said your ISO still doesn’t shout scum hunting to me

why didn't you take the initiative then?
