Question: Are the requirements for IC purely just 5 games and 3 months, or do you need to have shown a high degree of skill in your 5 games to gain IC status?

What's the difference?

ICs need to have 3 months on their account and their 5 completed games reviewed

SEs can just have 2 completed games even if they were lynched page 1 in theory

you mean an avatar?

at the top of the webpage is the user control panel link. Click there, choose the profile tab and select 'edit avatar'

then you can upload a picture from a URL or a saved one

newbie games can last around a month, so a couple of hours hardly makes a difference.I doubt your game will have begun by tommorow anyways though as newbie games usually take a couple of days to fill
