Well, to be fair, it's not really just JD here. I think a lot of people are pretty displeased with how titling has been going as of late, but many of those people have given up trying to reason in this thread. Also, I don't think it's out of line for him to post a complaint about the titling process in the title fairy thread. My 2 c.

Dear lord how dare he have the audacity to publicly state his dislike about how this thread has been going and the change over the years in what exactly the driving idea behind the title fairy was.

You're just as annoying as him but he at least is bitching about topical stuff where as you're just just bitching.

I think you need to do a public / loud refresher course on what exactly you think this thread is and how it should work, the endless bitching about what is a good title / venting of every slight has surpassed people spitballin' about titles and has now (imo) pretty much just de-railed any good that could come out of this thread. What was a fun diversion and community building thread is now srs business (and that just sucks).

If I were ever to be the Title Fairy (not saying I will ever be), my "guidelines" or "policy" or w/e would be the following:

RC's Imaginary Title Fairy Policy:

#0. Have you proposed more than X number of titles that people boo and hiss at? If no, proceed to #1.
#1. Is the proposed title arguably funny, given the context surrounding it? If yes, proceed to #2.
#2. Do enough people understand it to make it worth it to title the individual? If yes, proceed to #3.
#3. Does the proposed title recipient actually LIKE the proposed title in question? If yes, proceed to #4.
#4. Has the proposed title recipient already been titled (or alternately, within the past year?). If no, proceed to #5.
#5. Award title.

Profit.

And it would Work. Just. Fine.

Enough of this "Well you guys, I thought about each title for a week straight, and I even stayed up all night a few nights thinking about them, they're pretty good but... I'm not sure it'd live up to the hallowed standards that have been set in place by the brothers Morgan and Bartholomew, from ages past when more people thought only funny things were funny, and less people thought unfunny things were funny, not to mention, the site only had 5 unique users, and back then everything was an inside joke that pretty much everyone got, oh and btw I'm PMSing at the moment, so I'm gonna be a little bit more pissy and pouty than normal, and besides, there are people posting things other than title related discussion -- never mind that they're only doing that because there's a severe lack of mod interaction here, let alone titles being awarded -- I'm mad

I think he's explained it more than enough times. No offense to JD, but I think Oman has been doing a good enough job and has explained a very clear and fair process when it comes to selecting titles. He's not some sort of title nazi. He just doesn't want to pass out non-mafia titles, because when you give UT Fat and Sassy, soon enough you'll be giving someone like ReaperCharlie a unicorn-themed title.

Back on topic, Oman just needs to give the people who have been decided to get titles their titles and keep an open mind to those titles that have like 8 or 9 people supporting it. Otherwise, he's doing great. There's no need for a system switch.
