Fate is either wrong or right. That shouldn't change his alignment.

You are asserting that a Reck-town flip will make you more suspicious of Fate. Why? Town-Fate doesn't know the alignment of Reck, he has just deduced it, but he could be wrong. That doesn't stop him from being town.
