I've been getting MAJOR server lag lately.

izak spawned above the bedrock layer in the nether. The fact that he can build up there gave me an idea.

Claus, can you creative mode yourself so we can destroy a little hole in the bedrock layer above the nether?

Rhinox, Fishy, thanks for the brave rescue of Izak! My new time zone makes me on only when everyone else is asleep... Anyway, tonight I will creative mode a stairwell from the town portal in the nether to the upper bedrock layer. Feel free to prettify it later! Or let me know if you want it in another location (give me the nether x,z coords)

Uh, does anyone know the seed for our world? The debug screen says 0, but I know it's something different.

I'm pretty sure it is in this thread. I remember suggesting a number of different seeds. If I'm not mistaken, it is numbat. Also, I can give you a backup of the world save if you want.

Also, now that Bukkit is part of Mojang and releasing almost simultaneous candidate releases, I am planning to mess around with bukkit on our server either today, tomorrow, or this sunday (depending on how much free time I get). Maru, or anyone who has bukkit experience, can suggest a good tutorial? Also, if you have any mod suggestions, let me know -- just be aware that I prefer the server to be as vanilla as possible - I probably will only install admin mods (for allowing better logging, /sethome, mapping, etc), nothing that changes the gameplay itself.

I've already made a stairwell from the Nether HQ to the bedrock layer. You just have to make the hole.
Also, beware of lava.

I'm out, and there's a nether portal up there. When I have time I'm going to make one in the overworld that links to it. No need for a hole.

Different planks for different wood types (existing planks stay the same) - the regular texture for oak, a darker one for pine, a white colour for birch, and a slightly orangish one for jungle. And some new sandstone varieties.

nope it's bukkit's fault.

And they have Beta Releases, but they have the bugs in them, like the aforementioned one.

If/when a recommend build for 1/2/4 comes out, I will let you know, and link you to the only plugins I think you'll need.
