ok, I think. I don't use any mods. Do I need to do anything special to access the files in the minecraft.jar? I thought it was just a single file?

Yes it would, but I believe izak should have said BST instead of GMT (BST is GMT+! I believe, and it's what the GMTers use for daylight savings. I THINK DONT QUOTE ME ON THIS)

You'll need something to open it with, like winRAR (just get the free trial, it doesn't really expire). Also you may need to install ModLoader.

If your country observes DST izak, them you are not currently in GMT, but GMT+1 (Which, if I remember correctly (its been a few years) is what BST is, GMT+1. British Summer Time.)
