There is an AFK mode, you can set it to do a couple of things:
1. Auto-AFK or user-forced afk with /afk
2. When AFK, player can not be pushed/moved/is temporary godmoded
3. When AFK, players can not pick up items (prevent AFKing at spawners)
4. Auto-kick-after-X-seconds when AFK

^^ is an example config. the normal one is longer, but everything lower than what I copied doesn't work without other add-ons that are unimportant.
Super belated question: is there an official List of Mafiascum Minecraft Servers anywhere? There's one IP address in the topic post, and in the last couple pages I saw a post from Maruchan stating he had a 1.2.4 server (which I wouldn't mind joining as "Packbat", if that's okay) but it would be convenient if there were some central repository that people could just skip to.

The MafiaScum server is the one in the OP, and this thread is just about that. Maruchan has his own server, which isn't just for MS people, but he lets us on. I also have a server now, but it's for individual events, not a general world.

I wouldn't call marus server heavily modded. Its not like he's running a tekkit server just some convenience mods like locking chests and a trading system. Although I wish I could find a ic2 or buildcraft server

The speed at which mods are being updated suggests 1.2.5 won't be a problem for MafiaScum Ultra Hardcore, so unless anyone has any objections, we'll use 1.2.5?
