I just found my first diamonds on this server! The problem was I found this giant cavern with only two torches left so I was moving really slow and mobs kept coming in so I finally just teleported home. I have no idea how to get back there now, but I'll have to try a few times because it was a really huge cavern from what I could see.

Yeah, but I was keeping them to five blocks long. That way the light from the tunnel is enough to stop mobs spawning. Also, you can mine an entire branch without moving like that.

Have you teleported/died at all since that? If not, you can just use /back.

1- I made Izak and Xalxe ops in the server. Beware.

2- I don't really like the ability to "/back" after death - defeats the whole purpose of a "survival" server. Don't get too attached to that command, for it may go away soon.

EDIT: yeah, /back on death removed. /back on teleport should still be working. Play safely, kids!

I agree. /back is cool and useful for teleporting, but it's cheaty for deaths.

Is there a way to make /back avaliable for PvP use only?

What would be the point in that? PvP isn't allowed without permission anyway.

And I don't think it's included in Essentials. We'd probably need a different plugin.

There is a bed at the Spleef arena, or you could /sethome. As for a PVP arena, if one were to be built, I'm sure beds could be placed there as well.

I just had a

brilliant idea

regarding the new street system: house numbers!

Now, there are two kinds of house number systems: the order-houses-were-built system and the geographical-location system. The order system is generally the older, because it offers essentially zero help as to

finding

any given house, so what I propose is a geographical-location system based on one simple fact:

we have absolute coordinates

Thus, I suggest house numbers run by two rules. First, on a street that travels in the positive or negative x direction, you use the x coordinate, and on a street that travels in the positive or negative z direction, you use the z coordinate. Second, on an x street, houses that are in the positive-z direction from the street have odd numbers, and negative-z even numbers (vice-versa for z streets).

So, take my house. It lies off of what is now called Scum Street. To get the address:

1. I hit f3 and walk up and down the street, and this tells me that, as you pass my house, the street goes in the +/- z direction. Thus, I will need to use the z coordinate.

2. I get that coordinate at both ends of my house's frontage along Scum Street. In this case, the corners of the house are at z=307 and z=320.

3. I check the side of the street. It lies on the negative-x side, so it has an even number.

4. I pick an even number in the range of my house. I chose 310.

Ta-da! 310 Scum Street!

I think the problem with that is that most of the streets don't have many houses at all. I believe myself and esurio are the only ones on my street. (I think scroo's path has it's own name)
