Heck yeah I'm building one if I wish. You all know you'd love to be able to hang around inside... blast, what should I call it... shop... shop... Run by Korlash... wait, I got it!
You guys wish you could hang around the K-mart! Bam.

I don't really like the ideas of shops at all on this server. Definitely don't want anything like maru's server. If Korlash or Om wants to go make a shop and stock it with a bunch of stuff and try to get stuff in return like a barter system then I have no problem with that, but trying to set currency and what its "worth" really won't work. Things are worth what people are willing to pay. Supply and demand, etc. Our server really isn't big enough to develop an economy like that though.

This is basically what I was trying to say.

so I log in tonight during the time the Aussies are usually playing and our entire Aussie userbase has spend HOURS destroying all the diamonds and shop plots in town, and then taking it all and building buildings in the glowstone'd admin area under town.

I think I have a few stacks of minecart rail that I looted from chesskid's that I'll lend out to transport villagers back to town, although I'd like them back afterward, please! To sheep somewhat, I do agree that bartering would be nice but I don't like trying to set prices and such.

I don't really see anything different between an economy and a barter system other than size. If I set up a shop and say this is worth 4 gold nuggets, this is worth 3, and this is worth 2... then it's basically an economy set in the form of a barter system, isn't it?

You picked the right game then. I don't think... did anyone else get instructions? anyone? I didn't... did you? no? nope, no one got instructions here.
