Free will wouldn't be needed in a world with all synthetic life forms.Umbrage wrote:And fuck, even though I am confident free will does not exist, I'm not sure I could make a decision that would destroy it, no matter the benefits. That's why I don't think I'll be choosing synthesis. I might change my mind, but holy shit it is NOT the perfect ending people make it out to be.

I've been playing a bunch of MP recently to try to get my weapons/characters/upgrades/gear better. I'll play with anyone, just ask if you want to play. Here's my manifest just because I feel like showing how bad it is: http://social.bioware.com/3827200/&v=bw ... ultiplayer-

the concept actually ruins the endings yet againIn post 2734, Iecerint wrote:I thought the concept seemed neat.
because it shows that even with synthesis, problems could still arise(like war, the main problem that apparently everyone wants to stop in the endings--seriously why)
and um
synthesis was supposed to be the end result of evolution(according to Mass Effect[more precisely the Star Child]) and now we find out that perfection doesn't come with it
well fuck you too bioware
edit: oh right
guess I should go a little deeper into why this DLC will suck
k so let's take a time warp back to Shadow Broker DLC
a few weeks back we knew just about everything that was going to happen
we have some funtime with Liara trying to find Shadow Broker
find him
and possibly kill him
best DLC on ME2
Arrival:
mysterious atmosphere where a major game-turning thing happens
devs even say that you should buy it if you're a hardcore fan because it changes the fate of ME3
in this situation, we don't know what we're doing but it was a good story with more harbinger action
it was pretty decent with some biofags whining about putting story elements into dlc
well fuck
you don't even have to buy the dlc to find out what happens
you could look it up online or ask someone if they've finished it
and if you're whining about it, you probably know what happens so stfu idiots
okay so back to today:
here's what we know
1)It will release before summer ends for 10 dollars
2) it has a rogue reaper named "Leviathan" that is enslaving a mining colony(HAVEN'T HEARD THAT SHIT BEFORE)
3) has something to do with an unknown character being mad about her husband or someone(who I'm pretty sure no one will give two shits about) being taken by Leviathan or being under his control or something
4)we will learn more about the Reapers' origin(well thanks. that's not really important anywyay[i actually wouldn't be surprised if shepard found out more about starchild which then made the endings more complicated and broken[which as I explained above already broke again])
so basically it has just about a bit more than arrival and much less than Shadow Broker
oh and it reuses a story from ME1
yeah
this is going to be bad-

Is it an actual Reaper doing the indoctrination at the mining colony in ME1? I only played that once, and long long ago on my little brother's XBox360.
I think (hope?) that Bioware will be sensitive to the ending situation.-

I understand your gripes somewhat, but it seems like a lot of conjecture about whether or not the Levithan plotline will be good or bad. I agree shadow broker was a sweet ass DLC and arrival was a bit meh, but to say where a DLC will land before it's out is just too speculative, imo.YOUR AD HERE
Too busy with work to play mafia right now but I shall return some day!-

no it wasn't a reaperIn post 2737, Iecerint wrote:Is it an actual Reaper doing the indoctrination at the mining colony in ME1? I only played that once, and long long ago on my little brother's XBox360.

but it was an ancient plant being that had indoctrination-like properties that enslaved a colony(not specifically mining) in ME1
pretty fucking close-

The only problem with Arrival IMO was that after Shepard was like OMG INDOCTRINATED he could've just fucking shot Kenson, but no he just lets her leave, and then later they're like having a chat in the engine room... I always hit that renegade thing to kill her ASAP.I'll explain it to you. You have to get someone else to understand it for you.-

IGN says that Leviathan will create an "additional rift" in the ending (???).-

hey remember when both Paragon and Renegade paths had their advantages and disadvantages?
no of course you don't
the choice isn't Paragon or Renegade, the choice is "big idealistic hero who faces no negative consequences" or "big nasty realist who ruins everything"I'll explain it to you. You have to get someone else to understand it for you.-

so... shit. Nothing's going to plan, i've lost zaeed's loyalty and jack's loyalty, my morality scores are just too low. i'm going to try and keep to the plan, but let the chips fall as they may. something tells me the suicide mission is going to be nasty...I'll explain it to you. You have to get someone else to understand it for you.
