Remind me to tell you guys about the one time I got a 1 on my Arcana. It far beats out my 6 Streetwise check.

Erm, I've been on AIM since 1pm, Grey hasn't answered me so I assumed this wasn't on this weekend or something?

anyways, we could have made the encounter go a lot faster if people pre-planned their stuff
i was going to suggest we catch those runners so i could intimidate or something like that, but i didn't want to drag out something that had already been going for an hour and a half

Yeah. It went fairly quick, but like I always knew in advance what I was going to do. I read my powers before I decide to use them, and make a decision whilst everyone else is doing stuff. It made everything go quicker.
My main issue was the constant interruptions. If someone is talking, don't interrupt. Type in the chat box what you want to say.

Yeah it was kinda hard because everybody had stuff they wanted to do and there wasn't a specific way to choose who was up. I think once we had the bard start talking that everybody figured out they needed to shutup and if they wanted to talk to do it in the chatbox.
I think we might be able to figure something out, such as just running a loose initiative to have some sort of order.
Although the border between madness and genius is very narrow.
Yes, mostly because there's no physical cues. Like, if it were real life, I'd just hold up my hand and point at the first person, and ask him what he wanted to do, resolve it, and go around the circle. We have to rely entirely on verbal cues, and it's different. We managed to get control of the situation after a little, but it's gonna need work.

Proposal:
If you're not directly involved in what's going on (e.g. Nexus' chats with nobles, combat when it's not your turn), mute your mic and kindly shut up and type in chat
If we're just, say, gathering information and you've already done your roll, hush.
When proposing ideas, let others get a word in edgewise.
Otherwise, if you sense a somewhat hostile tone directed at you, you probably deserved it and you should let somebody else talk (like when I interrupted Nexus early on and felt bad)
Alternative plan: Grey brings an airhorn to the next session.

Highly interesting. I've never had this problem in any of games, online or in-person. Do you people run into a similar problem when you are just shooting the shit with your friends in conversation?
Maybe my group, all native New Yorkers, are just so used to people talking over one another as a method of conversation we just filter out the weirdness.

I think a lot of it is the eagerness of people, especially those who haven't really played before. They all want to be involved, but they can't be.
I got a little snippy last night, both in the chat and in skype.
I would also like to offer up a suggestion that everyone goes away and researches what their skills (i.e. Perception, Streetwise etc.) can be used for so as we don't spend ten minutes every half hour or so arguing over whether or not Perception can be used to understand the motives of someone.
Nobody thought to just cite "Insight"? I mean, motives is pretty much all Insight does. Nobody would ever take it if you could get the same and more for Perception.

I my experience, it comes down to there being no way to signal you have something you want to say, no way to tell if something is a momentary pause or they've finished talking, and just enough lag to make people both start talking when it's clear and end up talking over one another.

Can we get a list of character names, MS names and classes for my sanity/OCDness?
