EDIT: They were sold out when I got there at opening. Bought a fatpack and all the single boosters they had left. Equivalent to about half a box, and cost about $65 instead of $110, but I still got 4 shocks and a Rakdos.

Izzet sucked, Golgari was alright but it still kinda sucked in the long run

I think I'll aim for Azorius or Rakdos.

I think those are probably the easiest guilds to draft, not to mention it means I don't have to play Izzet or Golgari. Red cards will go to Rakdos, Blue cards will go to Azorius, Black cards will go to Rakdos. I'm not sure how to feel about Selesnya... it seems decent but I think making the choice between generating tokens vs. populating vs. creatures vs. removal vs. control vs. evasion is a lot harder to pull off than other guild's thought processes.

I found in the prerelease that populate is actually really good. But then, my pool had a bunch of cards for it, so I don't know if one case can generalize.

Yeah I was more talking about the fact that a populate deck needs two extra types of cards to work well so it's a bigger gamble in draft

me and zarxes bought two boxes and pulled:

Jace x 2
Epic Experiment, Wordspine Wurm, Jarad, Trostani, Rakdos, Niz Mizzet and Isperia x 1
utvara hellkite x 2

Also Azorius feels terrible, whereas Populate and Scavenge are pretty damn good.
Overload and Unleash are self-targetting, so they dont really get to be compared, but overload is pretty cool as well.

Azorius is p good in limited. I imagine it's probably insane in draft, where you can make your curve work. The only thing that really sucks is winding up in an Azorius mirror match. Fuck that shit.


In RGD (Ravnica/Guildpact/Dissension), you had to prioritize mana fixing really high in draft. While gates aren't

nearly

as good as bouncelands were, and keyrunes are probably inferior to signets, I would imagine that the same holds fairly true in RTR draft.

Also yeah, between the draft and the Izzet guildpack I bought, I now have 2 Abrupt Decay, 3 Blood Crypt, 2 Steam Vents, and I traded a Supreme Verdict and a Hallowed Fountain for some stuff for Modern and stuff I needed for Standard.

Hey guys. I just started playing MtG:Online and been doing M12 drafts. I've gotten like 4 planeswalkers with one of them being foiled.

Unless you're using them now, sell them to a bot for tickets and freeroll a bunch more drafts with them. That's the way to play MTGO

Looks like the new standard is going to be dominated by UW decks. Funny, the other day I was thinking about expanding my mono-white humans deck into UW humans. All I'd need to build the first place deck is +2 Elite Inquisitors (<$1), +3 Geist of Saint Traft ($60), +1 Restoration Angel ($10), +3 Sublime Archangel ($45), +3 Thalia ($10) (and I guess I'd need a cavern of souls if I really wanted to go all out). So...about $100 to complete my deck. Feh. And I already have so many of those cards

Joined my LGS' RTR League since I have to limit my MtG budget for the month and mostly just play limited anyway. Pulled another GW Shock, Cyclonic Rift, the Azorious promo flier, and some junk/not usable rares (Mana Bloom, Slaughter Games, and Chaos Imps). Played against an Izzet-Azorious deck and did really well; loving the way the deck flows and everything. RtR Sealed is fun.

As for what I'm running, ended up building a pretty good mostly-fliers deck with those three rares that weren't crap, the Selesnya Guildmage (who is OP as shit in limited if she's not taken care of), three Vassal Souls (1[U/W][U/W] 2/2 flier), a good chunk of removal/bounce/control (a few detainers, Voidreavers/Dramatic Rescue, Paralyzing Grasps), and a handful of beefier dudes from green plus some combat tricks (5-drop Hexproofs, Centaur Healer, Giant Growth and the other green instant that gives +2/+2/untaps). Might post a full decklist later if I remember to write down what I have.

(p.s. - fuck the enchantment that gives you an extra draw and +1/+1 for each card in your hand)

Buying unopened product is just so inefficient. For that money you could have had at least 6 shocks.

Don't like Splatter Thug... we were thinking of adding Guttersnipes (I like Kruin Outlaw myself). Chainwalkers are good but might drop them for Shred-Freaks. Vexing Devil is a bad topdeck but Vexing-sac -> Brimstone on t4 is hilarious.

Sideboard also needs work but it was thrown together last-minute so we didn't get proper numbers of cards together.

Also, Shea, may I suggest Traitorous Instinct over Mark of Mutiny?
