Shipping Tierce because her reasoning re: NS's flat vote-the-mod joke is ownage.

P-Edit: Vi's inclusion of himself was pretty obviously a joke. Not seeing what is interesting, still.

Not moving on, since it is still the only thing you find at all 'remarkable' in the game, NS. You are more curious about the impossible Vi lynch (obvious joke on Vi-as-mod and Vi-is-always-Town) than about
anything else so far
. We may be only 25 posts in, but I find it hard to believe that is the
only
opinion you would express if you were Town. You carefully dodged the RVS, and then sat pretty on a mod-vote without even wondering about anything else. The mod has no alignment, players do.

It's standard practice in Bastard games to lynch the mod first; this game was advertised as Not Normal; I wanted to see what happened. I've seen, nothing happened, let's move on.

Riiight.

Except that's not the full story on why I'm voting you and you know it.

You dodged RVS. A game being 'Not Normal' does not make it Bastard, it makes it a Theme of variable degrees of complexity. Vi is known for these.
You continued dodging RVS by abusing a cheap and easy Towntell of "let's see what this will do" by making a so-called 'simple observation' and sitting pretty on a pointless vote. It was not a 'simple observation', it was a
pointless
one.
Upon being called on this, you unvoted and continued sitting pretty on this pile of doing nothing relevant regarding the players in the game.
Upon being called on
this
, you voted for the person calling you out on scummy behavior.

So tell me: how does me
calling you out on scummy behavior
makes me scum? Are you
literally
voting someone
because that person is scumhunting
?

Really, how opportunistic of me for voting the person I think is scum. Fascinating how you also vote me and not Empire, who reportedly sheeped me. Your notion of 'opportunism' is bunk.

Tierce, dear, you and I together make up almost
half of this thread
so far. Of course I don't see anyone else as scummy. All I see is you attacking me for no good reason.

I, for one, am going to back off, give the thread some breathing room, and see what develops.

I'll be back when there's something real to comment on.

Unvote, Vote: Empire

Ownage? Seriously? Tierce is digging to see what comes up and NS is being stubborn, that's the summation. If I had a guess, NS isn't going to be lynched for a joking reaction to a joke, but I think we can lynch YOU for painful brown-nosing.

I voted NS for two reasons: 1) I liked the point Tierce brought up regarding his entry into the game as it mirrored exactly what I was thinking when I read it, and 2) I felt like it was a worthwhile thing to apply some pressure on in order to help move the game away from RVS and into more substantive discussion.

More to the point, I don't really like NS's reaction - Tierce already elaborated a bit on this but his responses in #24/#28 come across like he's a bit desperate to push the attention away from him and his suspicion of her in #32 is shallow. Criticizing Tierce for being opportunistic couldn't have been the reason given that he didn't call me out for my vote and his vote comes across as a panicked OMGUS.

F-16's first post is interesting and I can get the reasoning behind the vote on Xalxe as trying to prolong RVS is indeed something I see as somewhat of a scumtell for the early game - I'm just curious as to where he's getting that Tierce "isn't following instructions" as her vote continues the RVS theme of voting a different player.

Something rubbed me the wrong way about saulres' post #20 rubbed me the wrong way but I can't put my finger on what it was now.

@ Empire, regarding Tierce "not following instructions," I was talking about how she ignored what Xalxe said about going around in a vote circle and cast her own vote. I saw it as a mild town-tell because I'd expect scum to do what Xalxe said based on the natural tendency of scum to blend in.

Regarding NS, I can see the scum motivation to make fluff posts. For instance, to vote the mod and remark on the fact that the mod had a higher lynch threshold. In essence to make it seem like he is contributing to the discussion without actually posting anything of substance regarding the players.

I have a scum read on Shmugen as well. seems like a vague indication that he believes Tierce/NS are both town and seems to explain Tierce's reasoning for her i.e. Shmugen is making assumptions as to what Tierce is doing (digging to see what comes up) which he doesn't know. It is a possibility that Tierce is digging. It is also a possibility that Tierce has a legit scumtell on NS. If NS is scum, FOS on Shmugen for trying to discount Tierce's FOS as digging. Also, Shmugen calls out Empire on "brown-nosing." I read that as a greater strategy to discourage people from sheeping Tierce by attacking the "sheepers" on a personal level to make them feel worse about themselves. I don't find Empire's blatant sheeping suspicious at all. NS and Shmugen seem much more suspicious.

Trying to discourage people from sheeping other good players by accusing them of "brown-nosing" = scumtell because he wants to manipulate people into thinking it is not "cool" to sheep. Making assumptions about Tierce's motivation and downplaying her FOS on NS = scumtell if NS is scum. I see plenty of scum motivation from Shmugen regardless of NS. I'll go with Shmugen for now.

I choose not to be paranoid. I can play every game worrying about whether the best players are scum and get all worried or I can trust my skills as town to be able to nail scum when they do something scummy - and right now Shmugen is the scummiest to me. The fact that I read you accurately in our last game is a factor as well.

Yes, yes, "Shmugen is scummy", get it out of your system like everyone else in any game I've ever been in. NS's crime then, Tierce, is not contributing to RVS in the general fashion and then voting you? Do I have that right?

@F16 - If I had to pick one of the two to be scum, I'd pick Tierce, but any scum worth their salt knows they have to pick their battles. This battle is silly and not one I would bother fighting if I was scum, ergo I think they're both town. Sheeping is all well and good, I do it a bit too often, but there is a difference between general sheeping and over-praising of the sheep-ee's case, which I have already described as, at face value, barely worth the effort of the keystrokes.

Okay, so when you say Tierce is "digging to see what comes up," she is trying to "learn more about a player's alignment." But how is that scummy? That is what town is supposed to do.
