I think it's a little early to lynch lurkers. For example, not much has happened for me to comment on so far.

Not sure why Coron is taking a stand on the "Cadre bandwagon" since he had what, 3 votes? And two other players have 3 votes, too. Hardly bandwagons, but we do have so put pressure on players if we want anything to happen.

Hmmm...this post kind of rubs me the wrong way.

First of all, if a good guy sees a bandwagon he dosn't like, he should say so. It's good for people to "take stands" on as many issues as they can; how else are we going to figure out anything?

Also, is there any specific reason you're voting Cadre? I understand you want to put pressure on someone, but why him instead of one of the other people with 3 votes?

Cadre, MY reason for voting you has nothing to do with your 'time to lurk' post, because if you'd read the thread, you'd see I voted for you far before it happened, but instead has to do with your first two posts, which were FAR too over defensive and wrong. My vote stays for now, because your 'woah is me people are voting for me for no reason shtick.' makes you look even scummier in my eyes, especially since there have been two legitimate points raised against you:

1) the overdefensiveness in post 1-2

2) the 'time to lurk' comment when you had recieved attention.

I'm sorry, I didn't know lurking was such a horrible tactic here. But I don't lurk to stay under the radar, I lurk because I try to moderate how much I post. I tend to talk to much, so lurking is the only way to prevent myself from doing such.

Guys, again, am I the only one who thinks 143 is too many posts for cadre to pull the 'DON'T LYNCH ME I'M A N00B!' card? Happy with my vote for now.

I never said that, I just said it hadn't come up. I've only played three games here on MS, one of them was a full theme hence the vast amount of posts. The other two I didn't make it passed day one, so as you can see there wasn't much time for this lurking law to come to my attention.

Your post was just incorectly using the word "jargon" over and over again. Yes, some of Cadre's posts had little game-related content, but it's day 1; there's nothing wrong with making some meaningless posts on day 1. And some of those posts you blandly dismiss as jargen were, in fact, game related. "Your post seems off" "Ok, well I was embarassed i didn't know the game had started". That's not "jargen", that's a fairly reasonable response to the comment.

It's also not WIFOM for him to say "I wouldn't have said I was going to lurk if I knew people thought lurking was scummy". Not at all. I hate it when people misuse WIFOM to mean whatever they want it to mean to try and make perfectly rational points go away, and this is a perfect example.

But those 4 posts in a row you listed were hardly "unhelpful filler" and more then they were "jargon". At least three of the four of them seemed perfectly reasonable attempted to defend himself; granted, none of them were an especally strong defence, but it's not easy to give much of a defense to a "your posts seem off" kind of attack early on day 1. Defending yourself when attacked is not scummy, nor is it "filler".

To me, that extended post looked so much like a scum who's bored of nobody getting anywhere near lynch and decides to take things into his own hands.

It seemed to me much more that he'd picked a target and tried to get the evidence to match the guy he wanted to kill, bearing in mind that a bandwagon had already started and would be easier to get off the ground.
