can be reasonable.

What did you have in mind?

Okay. As the map stands, it's pretty certain that we're not getting bothered by anyone else until next turn at the earliest. So, I guess I'm asking, if at all possible, to try and get us both to hit the flag at different points during the turn, so that we don't end up screwing each other over and putting us both in a worse position than where we started.

I don't know if you're able to try and go via the blue conveyor belt, but if you are, this might be a lot easier. I'm limited in my turns. If you go via the blue conveyor belt, I'll be hitting the flag next turn and we'll both have time to hit the flag without interfering. If you go via the lane we're both in, it gets a little trickier, obviously. Not sure what you're capable of, so I'll leave it to you to elaborate as you want.

Where are you imagining you'll end up? Or, alternatively, when do you expect to touch the flag?

A note from the MC:

swyellowtail replaces
kdowns, effective immediately.

kdowns missed deadline after being prodded, and picked up his original PM two days ago.
If he has no desire to continue playing, it is in the best interest of everyone involved to replace him with someone who does.
Deadline is extended by 24 hours for swyellowtail to make a move.

Heh, makes sense that I pick up yellow. :P

Then again, kdowns vanished from some other places, as well... dunno why.

Turn
3
Results

Three turns in, we have the first milestone hit on the way to the end of the Rally! In addition, three robots started with minimal control after taking a beating last round. How will they fare this turn as we welcome
swyellowtail into the Rally?

Note: 2MB gif below. If it doesn't start animating after 15 or so seconds, click it to open in a new window.

Image
Recovery and withdrawal.

Luckily, Turn 3 began a lot calmer than last time.
Magua is able to win the priority battle against
Drench and continue head-on towards the flag.
swyellowtail, though forced to be shot by the board lasers again this phase, put himself in a good position to get out next phase.
animorpherv1, on the other hand, is in a more precarious position, conveying to within one square of the void at the edge of the board.
StrangerCoug doesn't let his respawn affect him, and starts powering towards the center. Both
swyellowtail and
Drench lock their first register.

As phase two begins,
swyellowtail uses his
Reverse Gear
to escape the board laser, hopefully once and for all, and moves his Archive to Flag 2 in the process.
animorpherv1 is able to escape the conveyor, but is forced to move into one of our friendly board lasers.
Cybele is also able to make it to a new Archive location this phase, and
Sudo_Nym locks a register of his own courtesy of
StrangerCoug.

In phase three,
Magua proves that slow and steady
can
win the race, as
Flag 1 is captured!
He can now start heading back across the board to tag Flag 2.
swyellowtail locks another register after being pushed by
StrangerCoug, but luckily isn't in the path of the laser again. Simultaneously,
Sudo_Nym moves into the path of a pusher, which pushes him onto a conveyor heading steadily towards the edge of the board. As he already has one register locked, hopefully it doesn't turn out to be a deadly mistake for him.

Not too much happens in phase four, though
xtopherusD and
StrangerCoug cause
Drench and
swyellowtail to lock an additional register respectively.

Phase five begins on a sad note, as newcomer
swyellowtail drives himself at full speed into a pit; the only good news that he placed an Archive marker earlier this very turn and will lose very little position.
Magua,
xtopherusD and
StrangerCoug all end up on Repair spaces, and are able to recover some of the damage they have taken. In addition,
xtopherusD gains a new Option to replace the one he lost when he died:
High Powered Laser
Your robot’s main laser has been modified to shoot through one wall or robot to reach another robot. If you shoot through a robot, that robot also receives damage.

Sudo_Nym and
Drench all choose to
Power Down
, and thus will be unable to give their robots programs next turn, though
Sudo_Nym will continue to be conveyed towards oblivion.
swyellowtail also chose to
Power Down
, so he can choose to come in with 8 HP and active or immediately powered down.

The north half of the board seems to be a popular side to kill people...

I was really worried that Drench would play a Move 3 at a higher priority than 820 and knock me off the map.

There isn't much at a higher priority than 820... I'd take a risk on a 97.5% chance of survival any day of the week.
You also disrupted his plans... he would have been 1 space away from the flag.

He's not that far from the flag now, and given that he powered down, I'm not really delaying his plans any.

(I could've gone around on the express conveyor belt, but I would've taken damage from board lasers and been in a precious position afterwards; I was worried about taking additional robot laser fire. When Drench didn't answer about when/where he'd be, I decided not to risk it.)

A note from the MC:

What do all of you want to do about deadlines over the holidays? I'm fine with extending it as much as is necessary.
Also, Turn 4 cards will be out once swyellowtail makes his decisions for Turn 4 Cleanup.

I don't know what I'll be doing, but I'm sure I could find time to post, if we continue.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

A note from the MC:

So it looks like I'll just treat it as a perpetual weekend and keep 72h deadlines until 1 January, and I'll loosen that if necessary.
