Game Rules (Modified from Bitmap(Open 472), which was taken from Rach, which was taken from NS, Modified from Zorblag, who modified them from Vel-Rahn Koon):


Spoiler: General Gameplay and Etiquette:
1. You may not quote private Moderator-supplied information (either real or fabricated) of any kind. Paraphrasing (for role claims, etc.) is acceptable.

2. There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role PM specifically allows it.

3. If you have a role with a Night action your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline you will forfeit your actions.

4. Roles with Night actions will not be able to submit an action on Night 0 (i.e. during the confirmation stage).

5. Any player with a Night action may instead submit a “No Action” PM to let the Mod know that you do not want to perform your expected action that Night phase.

6. As a general rule you should aim for one post every 48 hours, minimum, to keep the game moving.[/spoiler]
Spoiler: Voting, Deadlines, and Player Death:
1. A simple majority of all living members must agree on one person for a lynch to occur prior to deadline.
Special epicmafia voting mechanics will be explained when day 1 starts.

2.
Once you have reached a simple majority no further unvoting will change someone’s fate.
Again epicmafia mechanics

3.
Once a player is lynched the game, he is allowed one "BAH" post. Nothing more. The same goes for dead players.
Once a player dies, their last version of their will is displayed with the role reveal. No bah posts. Unless you do a bah post during twilight.

4. Please submit votes as: VOTE: PlayerName (on a separate line or they will not be counted)
Votes will NOT be counted if they are not inside VOTE: tags! (meaning no just bold, must use vote tags)
Obvious abbreviations or nicknames will be counted so long as they are unambiguous.

5. Please submit vote revocations as either UNVOTE: PlayerName or UNVOTE: . Unvotes are not necessary before changing votes, however are HIGHLY appreciated. (also must be in vote tags not just bold)

6. You
may
VOTE: No Lynch

7. This will use Vi's Battery Meter for deadlines. Nights will always be 48 hours, excluding special night 1.[/spoiler]
Spoiler: Miscellaneous/Mechanics:
1.
This color
is reserved for the Mod. No invisible/small text is allowed, nor is cryptography. (which includes languages that are not English)

2. If you have an issue/problem with the game, please PM the Mod privately. Do not post issues/complaints in the game thread.

3. The Mod may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.

4. Please bold all requests to the Mod so that they don’t get missed, and start them on a new line starting with "@mod".

5. Prods of missing players will be issued automatically after 72 hours of no activity or upon request after 48 hours of no activity. A prodded player has 48 hours to respond or risks replacement. A player who has been prodded 3 times is subject to replacement without further notice. (I will not be a cheating bastard)

6. If you request replacement, you must find your own replacement.

7. Rule violations will be dealt with according to their severity, up to and including a Modkill.

Special EpicMafia mechanics:
Guns have a 50% chance of revealing the name. (guns being dayvig shots)
Vests protect from 1 hit.
Wills are revealed on death.

Spoiler: Sample role PM
You are a Villager.

You have no night actions.

You win when all mafia and anti-town factions are eliminated.


Randomizing and sending roles when i can be online, will have to get off soon. Game starts when 10 of 12 have confirmed. Keep in mind that as most epicmafia setups it is a night start. Send in a will if you would like a last message (it will be posted when you die by me. It can be changed any night but not during day- so investigative roles will need to out report before they are hammered.)[/color]

Okay witht his daystart thing i confused myself a bit... Re-writing this.
Day will start when both 10/12 have confirmed and all players have sent in actions, or at approx. 3 pm EST tomorrow if 10/12 have confirmed (meanwhile unsent actions will result in no-action)

Role PM's have been sent out, it is now
NIGHT 1


EDIT @ 9:53 PM EST: 10/12 have indeed confirmed, waiting on last actions and day will start.
EDIT @ 11:53 AM EST next day: 12/12 have confirmed but someone still hasnt sent an action lol. I have given them an unnoficial prod telling them to get going. They might be asleep or some shit tho, havent even read the prod.

Night has ended, yet not everyone has awoken. People have just started waking up! Everyone is urged to go to the town square by their mayor, Venrob.


IT IS NOW
DAWN.


During dawn the mafia cannot talk- with people waking up, though it is dark, the streetlights will give the maf away. They can no longer talk in their QT (they have no daytalk)
At this time, no more actions will be accepted, nor will changes to people's wills. Actions are being carried out and reports are being sent, as well as deaths are happening.
You may not speak in-thread until everyone has awoken (day 1)

All of the townspeople, save for 2, have gathered at the town square. It is quite a sight! awestfie is sitting on the ground, dead, stabbed with a knife. Meanwhile several feet away Jake from State Farm is holding a bloody knife, shot dead.

Each night you pick someone to kill. You do not have any immunity as a normal mafiascum SK does, because epicmaf killers dont. Your kill is also not absolute (meaning cannot override doctors and such)

You win when you are one of the final 2 players alive.

There are special voting mechanics for this game: A majority des not end the day. Instead everyone voting does. It will function exactly as epicmafia.

if Z is not voting it shows nothing to the right. Should Z vote anyone but B or Z, day would edn and i would die. Should Z vote B, it would be a tie. At this point with Z not voting, after a certain amount of time people will be allowed to VOTE: KICK
This locks in all votes at the time, except for people not voting. If there is a tie and someone kicks it is automatically forced NL. Once enough people kick, anyone who isnt voting doesnt count for votes at all and day ends as is (if a tie, nl. If not, a lynch.)
Very wierd mechanics but it is how epicmafia works.

At this time you may begin speaking and voting. All actions have been carried out and everything is set. Vote count 1 in next post.

First post updated with deaths and V/LA's as well as fixed Consonant's vote tags. If you read the rules you would know i do not accept just bold, must be tags. I use my 3ds for this site some of the time and i cannot see bold on that only tags, so i will miss votes very often unless in tags.

When you are silenced (in epicmafia) you cannot type though you can vote and unvote rapidly (as was just shown). This is what i believe consonant is referring to as a claim of silenced. Play some of the theme and you would know that.

Is there something that I'm missing or... Dawn should have been written as "Dusk"

Nope, dusk would be after the hammer of a day before night starts. Dawn is sunrise: the mafia hide in places sun does not reach, but streetlights do reach. The point is people are waking up and will see the mafia by the streetlights. When the streetlights are out they can continue talking.

Just gonna point out that kash is about to be lynched if no major changes happen, guile is v/la sowhen project votes people can kick and lock the votes.... kash is essentially at L-1 for a normal game- 1 more vote on kash is the killing vote...

It won't hammer; project still has a vote, and according to gunsmith will a gun as well. Project voting kash would be a definate hammer, your vote would not be. I said essentially L-1. My point was it would be the time for kash to claim.

Matt, if you were to place a vote or shoot we might get things moving. 2 things: maf will prob target you to get rid of your gun and there is no guaranteed protective role so from what my POV would be were i a player, you should shoot sometime today. Also matt you have the ability to hammer kash. Or vote fuzzy and force an NL. Or several other things. Just for god's sake do something!

Play a game on epicmafia. Look at how voting works there. That is how it is working here. As guille is V/LA I am saying once matt votes stuff happens. At this point i believe matt can essentially hammer either fuzzy or kash. RVS doesnt happen on epicmaf, RL's do. Vote update incoming.

P-edit: ONCE EVERY PLAYER HAS VOTED, THE PERSON WITH MOST VOTES IS LYNCHED. TIES RESULT IN A NO LYNCH.

Should matt can currently hammer kash or fuzzy, causing a kick to commence to bypass the fact that guille isnt voting. guille can come in and vote opposite of matt to make it nl, or matt can vote nl and make it nl. If matt votes anyone but kashfuzzy it becomes nl. Matt has the hammer: kash, fuzzy, or No Lynch. Should kash change to fuzzy, kash will not be able to be lynched without someone changing their vote.

P-edit:
now matt can choose only between kash and nl. If kash changes to fuzzy, then that makes fuzzy someone that can be hammered by matt.
God voting mechanics (on epicmafia the computer program handles all this, now i need to!)

P-Edit again: with that unvote town is at L-3. There is no way for one person to hammer at this point in time without use of a gun.

kash, on epicmaf people claim within seconds of the start of day 1. You should probs claim in attempt to not be lynched. From a player POV that is.

What i did is I took a list of roles to be in this setup, and then randomly assigned some of them. Not all roles are actually in the game- for example: i said about vests and guns... That doesnt mean there are vests and guns. Like a true epicmafia closed roles that uses a list of possible roles!

Also matt can now hammer kash. Yes, there has to be a kick, but anyone can do that once matt votes.One kick locks votes from being changed, and can seal someone's fate.

This is not a bastard game and there is no cult- should there be a fool it would not immidiately end the fame but rather be a joint of fool and whoever wins the rest of the game.. What i did was i did what i do when i make an epicmafia closed role setup: I took a bunch of roles that are good, and then i randomly assigned 12 of them. (a certain number of each alignment) Again, there is no cult- should there be a fool it would not immidiately end the fame but rather be a joint of fool and whoever wins the rest of the game. NOT A BASTARD GAME. I have never done a bastard game, though i intend for the next game i make to be a bastard mixed-theme. Even if i were to include a fool/jester, it would not instantly end the game- they would win as well as whoever wins at the end. Same would be with lyncher. I hate ruining games like that.

The nearest person to 48 hours since last post (the point that you can request them to be prodded) is guille, not posted at all: V/LA, ConsonantM, 2 days 2 hours, also V/LA, Bomberman, 1 day 7 hours, 17 away from being able to be prodded. So right now a fair activity level. Increased activity will slow the rapid decay of the battery meter though.

MOD NOTES: guille2015's V/LA ends at midnight april 2nd (he specified through the first, meaning i will give him the whole day of the first. At this point he will receive an out-of-V/LA PM, and will have 24 hours to post before a prod is issued.)

I do not enjoy fluff. I will note that an excess of fluff will result in a 1/12 warning (4 of which is the equivalant of a prod, whilst 3 prods is a replacement) My system for warnings is odd but it uses fractions and stuff and a whole is a replacement while a third is a prod and a 12th is a quarter of a prod and stuffs. I will note that a silenced person talking is worth 1/2, or 6/12, 6 times the penalty of fluff and 1.5 times the penalty of a prod.

P-Edit: excess of fluff detected. Continual fluff will result in a major mod edit compiling fluff into a spoiler and 2 1/12 warnings (thenewearth and fuzzybutternut)) Either post bigger posts and condense the fluff or post game relavant information.

As for some people being inactive, the time before a prod may be issued has been reduced to 30 hours and the automatic timing reduced to 54 hours. As such you may request that projectmatt may be prodded any time upon player request- 31 hours since last post.

The only way to keep away the deadline is to restore the battery meter- it isnt just activity, it also goes down over time naturally. You can't do much to keep the deadline away.

How would a kick cancel the lynch? By kicking you are rushing the players that have not yet voted. At this time that will make fuzzy be lynched, however if done once someone votes for you, TNE, it would be a tie thus be a no lynch.

As i know it will be asked, if a lyncher's target dies they become town aligned. Thus, should fuzzy's claim be true, he would not be an anti-town third. Should the target be lynched it would be same as fool- win at end of game as well as maf/town/etc..

I have one mechanic different than EM does- my lyncher can be on maf as well as town and third. No lyncher-clearing.

No it will not. Unless only one person isnt voting and they get shot, but that is because that hammers the lynch aswell, causing 2 deaths.Ex. you could vote for fuzzy and shoot guille and day would end with guille and fuzzy both dead.

I am about to go to school for the day, as such the day will not be able to end regardless of kicks and such and gunshots will not shoot until i get back. That will be about 3pm EST

The town needed to find the mafia. At first they looked at kashkoodles.

"I'm the doctor!" kash said.

"I don't believe you!" said fuzzybutternut.

Because of this, the town mostly voted fuzzy, though some voted thenewearth.

"Fine, I'm lyncher on kash." claimed fuzzy.

The town hated this and went for him more, until Venrob, the mayor, cleared up that lyncher is mostly town.
At this point some people went for fuzzy still!
JasonWazza, who bought the residence of the freshly moved out projectmatt, took out a gun and shot guille2015. Turned out that guille, who had been V/LA, was actually the mafia's informant!
At this point Jason declared that fuzzy would be lynched, and laid down the hammer.

One last note: Bomberman was not a Villager, but a Gallis. Gallis gets a villager role PM. If gallis is lynched it doesnt die, if gallis is voted but not lynched it suicides.

I was (in 63) going by what i said in previous posts: assuming i were a player, assuming will had not lied, assuming everyone is town. The daytalk i knew wouldnt actually happen, at least not unless the day went past 5 days when it has 3 killing roles that isnt likely. Every 20% being a deadline, it would never happen. Should it have happened i would have stated that i were just kidding as i was.

As for your final bit tierce, i will take that suggestion insto consideration.

Also number 3 has nothing to do with the game, just me going "wow wtf".

Post 80 had nothing of me telling people what to do- i said that if you play a game on epicmafia you will understand the voting mechanics.

It was meant to be quick game. Not this quick though...

the 5 minute after kick was more than i originally planned. I planned on instant day end. The setup was randomly picked from a list of roles- there was no possible fool btw. Or cult. Only 4 possible thirds actually...

There could have been 2 VT's, as well as gallis (which was bomber)

The lucky gunshot and vigshot were the only reason town won so fast. Also jason: the guille shot (though ended up helping town) was a dick move. He had just stopped being V/LA and you shot him.

Finally: I plan on running this setup again (though heavily modified & balanced)
I'm thinking... remove vig, balance gunsmith, make roles randomly assigned though not completely randomly chosen (for balancing purposes) meaning maybe if there is killer there is guaranteed doc etc.

Finally FYI there was no chance of a cop :P (though tracker & watcher)

Might've been better if fuzzy janned jake....

I think most of the unbalancedness comes from the Night start to be honest with you.

Tracker is a weak cop, and with so many PR's is doubtful to actually find scum.
Gallis is a retarded role that just fucks town in the anus
Gunsmith is easily the most swingy role dependent on who gets his guns
Vig is almost as swingy but more town sided swing

Still balance wise i'd say it was equal, really janitor gives the Mafia team massive fake claim power (assume i was there kill/Janitor N1, they now can claim tracker safely and save there silencer from any lynches)

But yeah the balance is there, the swing is just also there and it swung to town sided but could easily go maf sided.

Yeah this needs balancing...
more of a setup test-run than a game just cuz that vig shot.
