@zdenek, I replaced in a 1 am my time. I was very confused about the game because I hadn't looked at anything before offering to replace because I assumed that a large normal would just be a simple large normal not a night-less mountainous setup. So that post was actually written by someone who was town.

Because, if he didn't read the opening post, which is what this post, at least on the surface, conveys, he would think that this is an ordinary game of mafia, and wouldn't feel the need to make either of these comments. The fact that he made them, indicates that he thinks there is something worth saying about at least one of them, and he wouldn't feel that way, unless he read the opening post or had someone tell him that he should make a comment like that (in the scum qt). So he's scum, trying to fake a town-tell.

Funny story.

I started to iso the players in the list order and started with Reek and went: "whoa scum!" But I'm replacing Reek and wow, he's town.

You guys should have lynched my player slot on page 3.

The Amished tell. Not a universal scumtell certainly (I've done it myself as town, just not directly after replacing in), but it certainly doesn't move my scumread on the slot. DGB follows this with an unexplained list of reads and bad reasoning on why MO is town.

Had to do some digging on the "Amished tell," I don't particularly agree with the logic behind it. The problem I see with that post has more to do with the "Looked at my own slot and I look pretty scummy XD" spiel, which reads disingenuously and attempts to wave off any suspicion on her slot as "Yeah, it is pretty funny, isn't it?"

Anyway I like this case and don't really understand why nobody is following it.

I don't believe the amished tell is of any value. I committed it in the very first game I replaced in...guess what...I was town. I'm more conscious of it as scum anyways. As town I don't always make a conscious effort to not say things that could potentially be scummy. (yeah, I know projecting self meta onto others is bad, but that isn't my point. I'm just saying that acknowleding a scummy predecessor can be done by both scum and town and is therefor null imo)

Anyway, he may or may not be scum for other things, but I'm inclined to think he is town due to his counterwagon status. (though I do need to go and look back at that later to make sure)
