In post 90, Ghostlin wrote:Now, if you link me to a chk game, particularly a mini, where he used a Cult or a single SK as the antagonist, I would gladly redact my assumption of two scum.
Here ya go.
He actually just ran a couple of Cult Micros to get ready for his large cult theme...
That being said...i seriously i doubt that this game will have cult...
and i also am assuming standard 2 maf as well, so i don't think Ghostlin's "both scum" is a scumslip, either...

pope's confidence about the slip seems townie...

but I don't think it was a slip...

plus I think pope is scummy for other reasons...

plus if I was scum I would LOVE to act like I think someone else slipped and just not move my vote...

in conclusion I'm not moving my vote

Where's DP and Hamlet. Between me and TIP's argument, we should be getting more comments from that area towards it, and honestly, hydras are known in my mind not to go unnoticed.

Back, here are my thought so far.

So the most contentious issue was the whole argument of TIP and Ghostlinn. Uhm I'm actually not sure who to think is scummier here as both players have done scummy things in my eyes. First, this has been mentioned before but TIP fillers a lot, some may be attributed to the fact that the game has just started so that makes sense for some posts, but I think RVS ends when someone makes a non RVS vote, like what Bacde did (funny, Bacde always ends RVS). So instead of answering accusations, he RVS's. plus Bacde mentioned that his more recent posts have become less filler-y but his last post was uhm pretty useless, like something that should have been asked pre game and not in the middle of the argument. Second is banking on the scum slip. While yes, there is uncertainty of the st up, however in a nine player scenario, more often than not we have a 7town 2scum thing going on. The chances of having more than 1 more anti town player like a third scum are low cause a mislynch would be automatic lylo. And wasnt it stated in the state of site report that cults are banned from closed normal games? Sure there could be an SK, but I'm looking towards this being more assumption than slip. Since I've never watched DBZ (gasp), can you show me one scenario where a cult or SK is applicable in this theme game?

On Ghostlin's part however, there was the fact that he mentioned that both scum would need to jump for the lynch thus outing them but a) (alady stated) quickhammer gains automatic suspicion, so scum dont do it this early in the game, thats dumb. b) the statement itself discounts the fact scum could already be on the wagon itself, so the assumption is there again. In my opinion, thats more suspicious than the other so called slip. Also there is this whole "I dont like reaction tests spiel" when a) he says its town, again discounting the fact that scum could reaction test to get town cred and b) puts a vote on pope which in itslf can be seen as a test to see if scum would jump on it. So yeah, contradictory statements arent looking good to me.

Anyway thats what I think of the issue, if anything Pope seems more like he's avoiding pressure when it was made clear that the pressure was no longer random, so if I had to pick with the two, I'd say pope is scummier, but my mind can easily change. No point in putting him at L-1 this early

This entire paragraph is laid with WIFOM on things I said. Of course scum couldn't both quick hammer if one exists on the wagon. The -point- of that it it's easy for someone to bring to L-1 and have both scum and town 'accidently' (usually accidental in town) quick hammer. In order for a L-2 quick hammer, two people would have to jump on. I presume that'd be scum besides town because, as I mentioned before, there's really no protown reason to want a lynch now, which is why I don't want L-1, the other reason being scum self-hammer. (Yes. Town self-hammers. I know this.) We aren't done with today yet by a long shot. Self hammer, quick hammer would lose any information we can get from the day.

Onto the reaction test: reaction testing is, in and of itself, sticking your neck out. Yes, scum could do it, but they like to hide as a townie, in my
experience. I don't like reaction testing because it's too simple to lead to town mis-lynches. I remember a game where we lynched someone over a messaging power one of the players had. This is in my personal experience. Is it WIFOM? Yeah, probably, but setting up the predicate that it's contradictory is a mis rep.

My vote for Pope has absolutely zero with a reaction test. I explained my vote on Pope in #78 and #81. I don't like how he's reacted, BUT I don't cast votes just for the purpose to see how people react to them.

The only chkflip game I have played before was a Newbie game, so the number of scum was a given. Speculation and assumptions about game design is not very fruitful without at least some data on the table, but I find that players often do it regardless of alignment. Interesting to know that more than 2 scum is a possibility.

Early game design speculation/assumption from someone who usually doesn't do it might be indicative of alignment. This is meta-research worthy.

My early town reads are usually good, especially after I have a baseline. But, they don't go unexamined.

It looks like a few of Ghostlin's most recent games were restarted/recovered after the Great Crash or w/e it's called. It's going to take a while to comb through older meta and I'm not sure how valid it will be.

However I did find a game where he posted something very similar to post : http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... 4#p3927794 He was town in that game. Not going to call that a town tell without some more meta diving.
