I think it's fine basing yourself on how people have played in previous games (meta experience is not wrong) but on how many? The latter sounds ridiculous to me.

Also I don't see how that was scummish. I just wanted to make a disclaimer since I was being protected based on an AtE action. (Me being new) and I'm not here for sympathy.
