We got lost on the way to the hotel

We went out looking for more of that world famous heroin last night at 2am and

ended up in a neighborhood

eagerly and deliberately made a bee line for PENN NORTH that looked like a set from the Walking Dead, so right then and then we knew their shit was going to be good. Lots of boarded up houses, lots of people out baked/glazed/frosted in the middle of the night ambling about to beckon us.

! And cops everywhere to duck from/run away from! Bert spotted two cops on a walking street beat and I stopped the car screeching the tires and backed out to them to ask for directions for the

the best stuff, as we were obviously tourists.

We roll the window and they're already laughing (racial profiling!) and they say, "you're lost?" OH YEAH.

After giving us directions they dispensed the following advice:

"do not stop for anyone else."

"make sure you use clean needles, 100 percent of the people here have VD and drive up the stats for the whole city!" THANKS CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!

I'll never complain about out our high Canadian tax rate again. We're paying so we don't have neighborhoods like that.

We went on the internet to check out crime stats. Whoa. Look up "Penn North Baltimore crime stats" if you're curious. Google street view the main arteries around the metro station there. The streets are paved with Black Tar Heroin.

Some of the areas in Baltimore have literally been described by police as "war zones" the area near Hopkins has a pretty decent sized open air drug market. or at least it used to when my mother bought her dope there
