I'm really excited about the Rat Cook being referenced. I have high hopes for the future.

For Stoneheart to work, I think they'll need to mention how they got rid of her body. "King Joffrey wants the bodies... well we butched Robb and threw Cat into the river, sorry"

I was surprised that Jaime got back so early. Now he'll be there for the wedding. It felt important in the books that he had not been their when Joffrey died, both because his son died without ever knowing him as a father and Cersei needed him and he wasn't there. I know they can do without it, but it felt like an important part of the arc for Jaime.

And I mentioned it in the other thread, but I think they're pacing up Arya's transformation well. I hope they bring in a little bit of wolf dreaming in the next season to speed it along and really make her feral.

I felt Sansa got really good in Feast for Crows.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

Sudo, I agree completely.

I have decided that she is going to be super badass and eventually be Queen of Westeros and etc.

I love Sansa, and I feel like Littlefinger makes her worse, not better, even though I enjoy littlefinger separately.

All the bullshit Sansa has been through makes her a strong, interesting character. Littlefinger's influence gives her the knowledge and ability to be slick and sneaky, and (most importantly for her character development) I predict he'll give her a tiny bit of a sadistic streak.

I look forward to grownup, in-charge Sansa Stark. Assuming she doesn't get murdered, which would be SUPER LAME.

If I were to guess, I think that Littlefinger is playing at Wife Husbandry- he's taking advantage of the position to get inside Sansa's brain; I'd guess he's going to marry her to Harry so he can get an excuse to put Winterfell back into her hands when he's got the opportunity, then kill off Harry with the plan of marrying Sansa himself.

I think you're right. At some point, Sansa is going to figure it out and either stop him once she gets the picture, or ride the Littlefinger wave until she takes him down herself. She's growing to become a blind spot for him, which is something he's not used to having.

I don't think it's necessarily a blind spot, per se. I think it's more that Sansa is smarter than Littlefinger has accounted for, and seems to be learning faster than he thinks she is. Which means at some point, he's going to count on her being her naive self, and then she's going to surprise him.

I totally agree, Sudo!

Except I'm not sure he ever intends for her to marry Harry. I think he's a little too jealous for that. But either way, his endgame is obviously to marry her himself.

If this wasn't George, I'd assume that yes, Sansa is going to defeat Littlefinger at his own game and then end up with Sandor (not The Hound).

But this is George, so who knows. He sets things in motion just for the purpose of derailing them.

I doubt that George is going to give us a downer ending, as weird as it is to say that. I feel like the whole death and darkness of the setting is intending to lead up to a "happy" ending, but not necessarily a "classic" one. I'm confident that Winterfell will go back to Stark hands, but quite possibly not how it's expected- my guesses are that either Jon comes back, sides with the Targaryens, and gets Winterfell as a reward, or Rickon comes back and gets handed Winterfell after the Boltons are dealt with. I think it's unlikely that Sansa will end up with Winterfell, but whatever happens between her and Littlefinger will be the catalyst for its fate.

i think i read an interview where he confirmed that the bastard's statement "if you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention" is mostly accurate, but I don't know how much to read into that.

Well, "happy" is in quotes for a reason. I seriously doubt that it's going to be a "happy ever after" scenario. I think it's going to be more along the lines of "the good guys win, but..." scenario. Of course, I think the whole title gives away that it's intended as a history from the point of view of the setting, which means that our perception of who the "good guys" are is not necessarily accurate. Damn complications, now I have to rethink.

That may be it. I'm expecting a happy ending, but in this universe, "The Others don't win" may constitute the extent of the happiness. It would be just like George to let the Boltons, Freys, and Lannisters win, but then call it a happy ending because the Others didn't destroy everything; would make for a hell of an ending to a story that's been written to defy standard convention.

This. Every single character can get a sad ending and the ending would still be happy, because I think the happy ending will be for "the Realm" and not for the fleeting lives of the characters. That's not to say EVERYONE will have a heartwrenching ending, but I'm sure some of them will.
