I side-eye (by that you mean suspect right?) Darthe, but you'd see that in your analysis when you get back from your V/LA tomorrow.

Apparently, you cannot quote well. My usual play style is to use language based tells to hunt for scum and pressure them. Subtle differences in words tell a lot to me. I'm not sure how you distinguish so easily between an obvious mistake and something suspicious. However, all mistakes should be acknowledged and commented on. If they were anything more than obvious mistakes, that would come out. I can't do that without a little pressure behind my words.

I can understand this, as I am a psych myself and we use these for forensic work. However, it should be noted that semantic tells are truly a stepping stone at most because they are weak standing for a lynch. I figured that out myself from doing it enough. If you want to view the difference between "kill" and "lynch" as one is 'scummy' and the other is not you absolutely can would not necessarily be wrong in that, but in regards to the game both achieve the same things even if done through a different manner.

Hence, semantic tell.

"As a psych"; "Forensic work", what do these mean? Are you claiming to be a forensic psychologist? What do you mean by I'm a "psych"? I'll admit kill versus lynch was a weaker indicator, but it was still worth following up on to see if some of the other tells were there. Did your extensive knowledge tell you the size of the slip and giving up was the best course of action? Blah. Keeping my vote here, but there's no point in focusing exclusively on you when there are a lot of other scum as well.


@Linxie, Town should use scum's mistakes against them. Why shouldn't we? A scum's mistake is referred to as a slip usually. So I'm all about using slips against scum. I'm really not understanding your point in Post 98. As for Saki, I'm waiting for her? to post more posts after she gets back from V/LA. We have plenty of time for that.

@BoroPhil, you seem to imply that jumping off a train gives town cred if it's early enough in Post 96. I'm not sure why you're saying this? It doesn't seem consistent with your theory on Zeofar. Can you clarify?

I find it difficult to imagine that you are asking for any reason other than to hear my specific answer. I am not claiming to be a forensic psychologist though I have been asked to consult a few times now. I recently started graduate school in the fields of general psychology, if you must know. I have yet to make a "slip" and to claim such would be minor confirmation bias. I have made a simple mistake. Nor have I remotely given up.

If I was not a factor, who would your other lynch candidates be and why? Additionally, I agree with your point on Boro, but not against Linxie (about slips). Though that may be bias on my part.

I debated going down that road myself Darthe, but I always intended to keep my professional background hidden. I don't work as a psychologist at all, but you are right that I have taken a few courses. It will be interesting to work with someone who has a similar background.

I'm also interested in what gave you the implication that I thought Linxie was a good lynch target. I don't. Despite the FoS she placed on me, she seems to have reasoned opinions regarding the usage of mistakes and slips against scum. I totally disagree with him/her but I think s/he's legitimately scumhunting now that s/he's shown up. I could chalk up her lack of posting due to not realizing the game has started. She's not totally town but I'm leaning town with her right now.

StubbsKVM I'm leaning scum on. His behavior's seem to be slinging far too much mud for how little thread we have here. His random vote is meaningless. He votes Voodoo Lady for her RVS vote. That's a little much but that alone meant nothing at the time. Then he follows up with fishing for who he thinks is scummy. Then, he almost calls me too town. Lastly, he skips over the post below to focus on Saki instead. Stubbs's behavior makes little sense and has contributed little to the group at all. Stubbs hasn't given a "word slip" in my opinion yet though.

I don't think that Titus is scum, but rather that he is the person in the spotlight. When you are more active you usually make more mistakes.

The overeagerness in Titus's "scumhunting" looks a bit forced. It's like he's actively trying to look town.

Seems a tad too close to the "too town" argument for my tastes.

What in particular about Titus's posts strikes you as scum? He's (?) posted more than anyone in this thread, so there must be something in particular bothering you.

Zeofar, I'd like to hear more from him. His wierd votes are suspicious, but not enough for me to call him scummy yet. I want to see more.

Agreed. I'd recommend rephrasing your question or trying a different tactic to see if Robocop is indeed being a forced town or not. I believe he is town right now, but I know I'm not perfect.

What was I supposed to say? That I am trying hard? My answer is thats how I play. But I've always hated meta arguments, and the inability to answer the question made me just make a face at you.

It seems that you were willing to vote very early on, but now that we are starting to work through the day and get more meat, you've stopped. I don't understand that disconnect. Smudger, what are your thoughts on Phil/Zeofar?

MY thoughts on Phil are that he is trying too hard, but not actually giving much to be honest, yes he is active but It seems forced, especially in the early stages of the day, it maybe something or nothing, I still currently find him scummy though after our earlier discussion.

Zeofar, no real read TBH, I know others have suspicions but I am waiting to see the replies that come back in relation to those suspicions as that would be of particular interest
