This is interesting. In college we actually did a survey on this about self image.
Most insanely hot chicks see themselves between a 6 and a 7 owing to the fact that most guys are intimidated to approach them and ask them out. Psychologically, this is usually translated into the women having a negative image of themselves because they saw other girls having more success with their love life.
Average looking girls found themselves to be between an 8.5-10. Most guys find these girls to "be their speed" and so approach them much more freely.
Below average looking girls rated themselves the exact same as insanely hot girls for much the same reasons.
While it may seem like a shallow study, it actually ran deep from a psychological standpoint. The point I'm trying to make here is that you can't rely on someone's self image because its often skewed. As a result, your question may not come up with the results you expect.
