You guys almost ruined this one many times. Buddy here. Buddy there. Buddy everyfuckingwhere. Thing is, I used to be so susceptible to buddying it was ridiculous. After losing two games in a row because of it and then a third because the town cop was buddied by the fucking godfather, I swore no more. I'm now probably more sedative than most to it. This game I decided to let it play out to see if I could force a slip. I think I did.

Like I said, you guys made it a lot harder than it had to be. As soon as KJ said 100%, the hair on the back of my neck stood on end. I almost shrugged it off as soon as it happened. But then a thought occurred. How about I use the buddy against them by making him feel like we were all warm and cuddly. The moment he said he was "other investigator" I set the final the final trap...

Yea waynegg nailed it spot on. #78 was my investigation crumb and #145 was my not-being-a-cop crumb.

There's little to no possibility that waynegg is actually scum because he found the crumbs before I ever claimed anything. From his POV, it's MUCH more likely for townegg to recognize sane-crumbs than it would be for scumegg to look at insane-crumbs and actually recognize them as insane-crumbs.

Just go through the thought process yourself. You're town and see someone calling you 100% obvtown. So, being the good little detective that you are, you wonder why. A little later you see that player offhandedly mention cops. Ok so that probably means he's a cop or some other sort of investigative role, that makes sense.

Sorry for dragging that out, but after the Cop crumb, had to be sure and had to coax him into admitting he isn't a Cop. It would be a shame to misread and kill a Cop. First of all, for all you know I could be a VT that received a cop invention last night. Just because I have an innocent on you does not at all limit my role possibilities to town-investigative or scum. Second off, I never feel the need to specify that I'm not scum in games, because any player of any alignment would state the same, "I am not scum" (read: Appeal to Emotion). Thirdly, it didn't even look like your question was directed at me. If anything, it seemed rhetorical.
