I'm not good at interpreting joking like that. Which is ironic considering how much sarcasm I tend to use.

I was assuming Varsoon-Pjovek just now because I thought Pjovek was being serious and when only Varsoon really caught it as a joke in 200, it made me think only he knew it was a joke because they would be partners. And then the whole paranoia about scum lying about their lists and Varsoon sayin Pjovek was likely scum due to his position on the list, plus Pjovek's knowledge of Varsoon's trust tell thing...it was a spur of the moment.

I think he's been one of the scummier players so far and the wagon on him is completely justified. His reasoning for voting DrDolittle reeks of OMGUS disguised by poor reasoning.

So sure, it was my bad to make an assumption, but I'm going to ask directly now: Do you think posting lists helps town or scum more?

I also agree that 190 + 194 looks contradictory. Plus, when GNR said "Hang on" in 194, I assumed he was going to do something after that. He hasn't yet. I can concur with the Riggs scumread.

I don't see why TSO is gut-scumreading Haschel. He doesn't know why either, but I haven't noticed Haschel do anything scummy.

Sorry, Varsoon was autocorrected by my phone. Anyway, it isn't helpful to you unless you know other people's lists. Furthermore, I'm fairly confident that vanilla townies aren't considered partners for the purposes of the lists, so if you really are one, you're going about using your information wrong anyway.

Also, a few pages ago you had a list of people you were confident were town. Why wouldn't you want to work with them?

I already said I just hand-randomed my list because I don't really know anybody here? Well, Varsoon ended up first and it was supposed to be a half joking affirmation that we're both town or something. Since nobody with a brain would claim anything else. (or so i thought)

PJ was not joking, but I have a feeling he somehow missed the two GD threads on trust tells, the Site Idea thread on trust tells, and the week ban that was issued. I don't think it is tell in any direction, though, just someone who's behind the times on recent events.

P-EDIT: #212 is dumb as shit.

One thing to consider is that there is a higher-than-average chance of finding scum on random this game, with 5 non-towns. I could easily see Haschel being scum, but a lot of what we have posted at the moment has been setup spec(null) and discussing Varsoon(dependent on Varsoon's alignment). The only people I really see as strongly-town at the moment are DBK and, too a much lighter degree, Garantula. I feel scum wouldn't use such shoddy reasoning to defend not claiming lists as "it's against the spirit of the game".

Paranoia's coming back. I'm thinking Pjovek is VT too. No one seems to know who he is so he was likely near the bottom of plenty of lists. Plus, I can see VT-Pjovek doing something like that: seeing if he could try to work with Varsoon to see if he was town. If Pjovek had a partner, I wouldn't see a need for this unless he was coached.

But he also says it was half joking so ugggghhhhh I can't fucking decide, he probably wasn't coached, fuck it, he's probably VT.

Through this, I guess I'm getting a gut-town read from Varsoon for seeming genuine about thinking he'd be "partnered" with other VT's.

@DBK, I put Varsoon at the top of my list. However, then I put the players I had NEVER played with. Varsoon is a pretty artful troll when he wants to be, and I'd want to learn that skill. The rest I picked because if we were partners it would be harder to detect. Then I put players I have a history with (you and TSO) towards the bottom of my list because we'd be more detectable as partners together. Don't suppose that not knowing people means that they're low on people's lists.

@DBK, the AA9 think/Varsoon trust tell things I am ignoring. I don't comment on mod decisions during games as a matter of policy. It usually comes across as players sucking up or bitching about the mod's decision. That is a good chunk of the thread.

That being said 212 looks like buddying of Varsoon. He randoms and the same guy a lot of people are putting first appears at the top of his list. Color me suspicious.

I'd like to hear more about GNR's supposedly contradictory opinions from Hanshel.
