Following news of the upcoming vote on national religion in Arrakis, all construction on the Cathedral is halted until further notice. The eyes of the Holy Empire are watching with bated breath.

Press Release from the Leaders of Arrakis:

Yesterday, the population of Arrakis took to the voting booth and voted on having Mhorkism as the state religion. An overwhelming majority of people, about 85%, voted against the motion, so it did not pass. We once again apologize for not putting this to a vote at first, and also apologize to the Lord of Mhork for the cathedral that we unfortunately have little use for.

We apologize for the scare that this motion caused, as well as to the 15% who were in favor of the motion.

Government approval is increased by 40, tax income is reduced by 400M.

I would like to set up a poll of my citizens with the following:

If there was to be a tax increase, what would you want the money to be spent on:
Infrastructure
Education
Industry
Healthcare

How much of a tax rate increase would you be willing to agree with if it had to be done?
(Just summarize this to a amount for the minimum people put, the max, and the average for the big picture of what i would recieve.)

What is your current religion?

Is this a census of everyone or a survey of a few thousand people? (The former is likely to cost a few hundred million, whilst the latter's cost is negligible)

Prior Philip was ejected from the House of Clergy following the vote on a national religion, and the Twin Houses are not pleased with the 1B marcs Arrakis had them waste on a Cathedral. Opinion of Arrakis has fallen drastically.

In addition, a buzz is stirring amongst the populace, for in 9 months time the current Lord of Mhork will reach his 55th birthday and retire.

0.5 B on a multifunctional Oekezzia satellite launch
0.5 B on the coast as sea defences and fish farms
0.25 B on PR strategists to boots our international approval rating

Utilize patent office to patent various medical inventions and research new inventions

Hammers strike

Today three large hammers were found embedded in the ground in front of the seats of power of Disputelo, Maeristo Lux and Caeliah, no one saw them being placed despite the areas being usually well travelled even at night. Religious leaders are claiming that these so called 'godhammers' are prophesied to be the first warning signs of a terrible fate that awaits country leaders who are not interested in leading their people. More rational people are left scratching their heads at this, although it has also served to point out their governments have been rather lacklustre in doing their jobs over the last few months.

Government approval in Disputelo, Maeristo Lux and Caeliah has decreased by 10.

4B in the national reserves
1B on general upkeep to keep the lights on, water flowing, etc
1B on a public referendum to answer the following question: If the people of Koapox could solve one problem, what would it be?
1B on financing the education system in the Kingdom

Silverlands, would you be willing to accept a Koapox investment in your national bank thing?

You realize a question like that is way to broad and not likely to produce anything meaningful right?

Certainly! We welcome investments and trade between all fellow peacekeeping nations. Provided we ever actually get any interest that is and our shiny new bank wasn't 1 B down the drain of course :P

Shrug. Tell it to the guys in the patent office. I mean we didn't splash the cash on one just because it looks pretty

I mean the patent clerks would have nothing to do if they didn't have patents to file. With such general unrest and boredom from a lack of work, the workers would most likely turn to hard liquor and crime, resulting in a negative economic spiral and causing the economy of The Silverlands to crash in a pitiful swirl of depression and rogue patent clerks. This would have a domino effect on the general economic wellbeing of Oekezzia, and Gazebo by extension, causing anarchy levels to pirouette out of control and society to degrade into a fuzzy mish-mash of despair and unrest.

And I don't think any of us would want that right?

Of course not, as long as what you spend is sensible it's used in an effective way, not necessarily exactly what you intended due to limitations on the data sheets and scripts, but it is never wasted.

Having significant amounts of money in reserve will increase your income somewhat. Likewise, being in debt will reduce your income and approval somewhat (and there's a cap on debt before we declare you bankrupt, which is a Bad Idea). Your shiny new bank is likely to boost these effects in the Silverlands.
