Vulcun just utterly smashed past my expectations. I'm so used to, as doublelift says, Vulcun Throwbargins, Vulcun not being the best, Vulcun just being second rate.

They just took down the #1 team EU. The #3 team in NA just took down the #1 team EU.

In other news, Corki+Ezreal were the ADCs of Season 2 world championships. Corki+Ezreal are the ADCs of the Season 3 world championships.

vulcun's comp was fking horrible into ozone's

To be fair no one is used to playing against Ozone.

Vulcun had a much better early comp, it was just a matter of Ozone not falling far enough behind. If they'd been able to punish the two tear champions more, they could have done something cool, but Ozone completely outpicked the Shen pick in every way.

I feel like shen is finally a dangerous pick, rather than the safest top lane pick ever.

Vulcun did some very impressive stuff that game, but they got caught out too many times. Mancloud looked so good by straight-up out playing Dade in lane a couple of times, but the nerves may have got to him as he missed quite a few charms. That game was really about Imp and Mata putting on their carry pants. There's a reason they are considered one of the best botlanes in the world.

Despite that, the game was not a blowout by any means. I think C9 actually has a decent shot at beating a Korean team. We just need to pray to based meteos a little for deliverance.

I was feeling real hopeful during the Vulcun-SSO match, but yeah, Mancloud and BloodWater got caught out a couple times, Imp and Mata clobbered in botlane, and Looper was a fucking terror.

Meh, we can circle jerk about what Ozone did wrong, but Gambit played brilliantly.

I'd say the two big shockers to come out so far are Vulcun and Gambit. Gambit there was always the possiblity they'd bootcamp, but I don't think teams were taking Vulcun seriously. 8 strong teams in the group stages.

I'd say what I said is more about what Gambit did right.

The kog pick was a reaction to the lack of up-front burst from Ozone's solo lane, and the R-vision passive is always good against a Vayne.

Yeah, Gambit played that game really well, IMO. And I certainly don't think Ozone played poorly.
