Um, I dunno, man, Delver was definitely NOT dominating the format--FissurePost was. I actually don't think this is arguable. Don't get me wrong, Delver was competitive--probably the second best deck after FissurePost--but it wasn't destroying the format.Natirasha is just a vestige, it's Contessa now.-

At worst, mono-U Delver is only 15% of the field. Cloudpost, on the other hand, was in 27% of all decks, with over 20% being in Fissure or UR Post.In post 3649, Sudo_Nym wrote:At Pauper World Headquarters:

It's almost certainly perception, sure. I personally played against Delver a lot more than 15% of the time, though. And I never once played against FissurePost. But I played almost exclusively Tourny Practice and 2-mans.One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.-

Delver has some pretty bad matchups that were being held down by fissurepost. All the grindy 2for1 mad creature kill decks that generally have good game against that deck were completely unplayable thanks to fissurepost. And delver was good against fissurepost. Actually the bans recently have hurt the delver deck - it thrives against combo and all the combo is slowly being removed. Its like the WW effect where they removed its good matchups and replaced them with bad ones and it became unplayable as a result. I dont think delver becomes unplayable but the deck gets worse now.(10:50:24 PM) xcaykex: GODDAMNIT I DONT WANNA GET RID OF MY TENTACLE RAPE PORN

Also will post a possible G/W deck I might run instead of this.-

I suppose I just possess an irrational hatred for all mono blue decks in any format. One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. Seems fine to me. You're not hoping to spawn a ton of tokens, but a 2/1 for 2 that can be cast off BTE is fine, spawning 1/1s isn't terrible, and it happens to get extra value with Purphoros on the field. It's not max value like it would be in UR/UWR Burn, but 12 spells will do fine.
Speaking of deck help:
Spoiler: white weenie
Planning on either building this around release, or some form of UB/UR control (want to use the RTR Jaces I invested in). Paladins are like $30 for the playset, sadly, so this deck'll take about $75 to build if it's right after release. I could possibly use Boros Reckoners in place temporarily, and Dryad Miltants over the Soldiers of the Pantheon, maybe space out my purchases and just try to run it on Game Day.If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?

I could maybe see going up to 21 lands for consistency (and being able to cast Burning Earth out of board) since it's a PTQ, over the one-of I suggested, but 23 seems like a lot for RDW that has three four-drops at the top of the curve. RG Sligh ran 20/21 and had 4 Hellrider+GCR (even with the latter being a pump spell, I've hardcasted him plenty of times).
It's also only two Mutavaults (because have fun trying to cast Reckoner with 4 of them), so I don't see why you'd go up that many lands.
I've gotten flooded a lot even on 20/21; this list does have Purphoros and Satyr to help but it's not much.If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?

I have personal doubts as to whether you'll need 4 Burning Earth. I feel like Farseek leaving means that the 4c mana bases can't function very wellIn post 3658, InflatablePie wrote:In post 3655, kdowns wrote:Creatures:

How about something like this:
4x Boros Reckoner
4x Ash Zealot
3x Fiendslayer Paladin
3x Purophos, God of the Forge
4x Chandra, Pyro
4x Elspeth, Sun's Champion
4x Assemble the Legion
3x Chained to the Rocks
3x Mizzium Mortars
4x Magma Jet
4x Sacred Foundry
4x Temple of Triumph
16x Other lands
Seems like there should be a niche for a Boros deck abusing Purophos+Assemble the Legion. A bunch of first strikers to gum up the board, then start legion assembling with a couple of planeswalkers for backup.
SB:
3x Wear/Tear
2x Celestial Flare
3x Stormbreath Dragon
3x Warleader's Helix
1x Chained to the Rocks
3x Anger of the GodsOne time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. It wins faster! Plus, it's really more about trying to make Big Boros a thing than trying to get a combo. Purophos and Assemble the Legion are both good cards, and they work well together. So what if it's not strictly a combo? One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. Only drafting (and not playing) on some simulators, I think blacks probably not as bad as I thought, and blue not as strong. blacks uncommons help fill its issues out a bit better, where as blues are just better redundant versions of effects it already has. I still think my earlier order is probably right though.Taking a break from the site.-

2 Purphoros, God of the Forge
4 Chandra's Phoenix
4 Young Pyromancer
3 Spellheart Chimera
2 Turn // Burn
3 Syncopate
4 Magma Jet
3 Lightning Strike
4 Izzet Charm
3 Dissolve
3 Steam Augury
3 Ral Zarek
4 Steam Vents
2 Mutavault
8 Mountain
8 Island
SB: 3 Counterflux
SB: 2 Hammer of Purphoros
SB: 4 Anger of the Gods
SB: 1 Turn // Burn
This is basically what I'm looking at for Theros-Standard UR. I really want to use at least one God effectively, and I think Purphoros is the God for me-

If anyone cares about pauper, here's a decklist:
2 Benevolent Bodyguard
4 Avacyn's pilgrim
4 Lanowar Elves
2 Bonesplitters
4 Journey to nowhere
4 Devoted Druid
4 Midnight Guard
4 Presence of Gond
4 Sigil of the Nayan Gods
3 Guardian of the guildpact
2 Lanowar Empath
1 Totem Guide Hartebeest
4 Selesnya Guildgate
6 Plains
12 Forests
The deck makes infinite 1/1 tokens with the central combo of midnight guard+presence of gond or alternately, devoted druid sigil of the nayan gods and presence of gond. I like having the alternate combo in the deck because its pretty low cost to run the sigils, which cycle when you dont need them. They also advance the alternate plan of just beating down with dudes which wins a surprising number of games (guardian of the guildpact with bonesplitters and sigils). When theros comes out, the most difficult part of this deck (finding the missing combo piece, particularly the presence - there are many creature searchers) becomes way easier with the new green grisly salvage thing (commune with the gods). Playing white and green gives you access to sweet cards like standard bearer, qasali pridemage and scattershot archer in the board. Veteran armorer is for electrickery decks.
It's possible some of the beatdown slots should already be dedicated to more search cards. I like the 8 mana elves into turn 2 midnight guard, though - that feels really powerful.(10:50:24 PM) xcaykex: GODDAMNIT I DONT WANNA GET RID OF MY TENTACLE RAPE PORN

I love you Shanba. I am also going to test this out sometime. Looks half-decent in the maelstrom of the new meta.In post 3673, Shanba wrote:If anyone cares about pauper, here's a decklist:
