I was doing that in another game with Mr. Stoofer and Mr Flay.

Jack - it can, yes, or you could be doing it as a distraction when you see one of your scum buddies getting pressured. This last time you voted Ubertimmy right after he voted yamo. Now yamo is voting someone who's voting you. Etc, etc, etc.

Cubansmoker, based on the idea that i have no knowledge of anyone's role in the game, this effectively means I can't offer theories day one, because they have "no basis". How much proof do I need to have before I sugges tsomething I've noted? On a similar note, this means that lynching one of you will give a basis as to the alignment of the other.

I also don't like the subclaiming.

That's a bit sketchy Skruffs. I don't know his alignment, he may be trying to attach himself to me for all I know. Saying things like this make you look a little scummy. If you see a pattern between two people day one, you might be able to use that day two - but saying lynching one of us will confirm the other? That's scummy...
I'm suspicious - in every sense of the word.

Yamo - I was taking his reasoning one step further.
That you are saying I'm scummy, when He is the one tying himself to you, and not responding to him yourself, is making my ears perk waaaay forward, like an attentive cat's.

It makes me curious as well, but saying that if I'm town he's probably town or if I'm mafia he's probably mafia (and vice versa) is not the logical end to that reasoning. It's a lot of WIFOM.
I'm suspicious - in every sense of the word.

Hemisphere Dancer -1- (Thrawn 1020)

They used to call me CS. And I found an avatar that looks a lot like my old avatar.

Skruffs, you can theorize all you want, it's the conclusions you draw that one must always be careful about. I know you didn't say: "They're both Mafia!", but you were clearly planting the idea with your study of our voting & fosing history. I think it would be foolish to lynch based on your little study.

What I want to stress is I could identify a similar 'relationship' between many sets of two players in this game. However, I know it's futile at this point, so I am not going to bother. The strategy is not useless in general, just right now.

I really like lynching quiet people on day 1, because they will always be tough to read in the future. I also like lynching obnoxious people, because then there are less obnoxious people in the game.

I'm going to add AndrewS to my list of lynchables since he is not contributing much.

Yay. As long as I can theorize - you'll notice I didn't actually vote you two.
Maybe you are right about it beign useless right now as compared to later, however, it could also be a scum tactic of one mafia to tie themself in with a townie. Or it could be coincidence.

IT does provoke discussion, though - and if you can provoke discussion it's a good thing.

As the deadline looms, I think everyone should consider posting a list of people they are comfortable lynching. I've got 4 as I recall: Jack, ubertimmy, Andrew S & cubsfan.

These lists are obviously not binding, but it should help us pick one.

I'd probably favor Cubsfan.

I'm on the fence with Jack.

Scruffs posts a little too much.

CS got an avatar. That makes me happy.

Yam seems town to me.

In fact- I'm going to go ahead and
Vote:Cubsfan4Ever
and put him at L-3 unless there is any objection.

How does skruffs post too much?

Would you unvote if there were objection? That's weird.

I will do so, but I can't seem to find any reference to how a lynch will work if we reach deadline without the full number of votes, which will be a factor in my considerations.

Mod
, can you clarify what will happen if deadline comes with no majority vote? Specifically, what will happen if we have a near-majority and what will happen if two people are tied at that near-majority?

@Jack: Sure I would unvote if there were strong objections. I am a member of the majority in a game of majority rule.

I don't have enough solid evidence to feel so sure of myself that I would go against the majority.

But- At present time, my vote is where I want it.

And about Scruffs- I wasn't trying to say anything with my comment. It's not scummy in my book. I was just making an observation. One that only holds true in these last few pages, by the way.

huh? That isn't what you said for one thing:
AbboTT wrote:unless there is any objection.
If one person objects then there is an objection. There doesn't need to be a majority, and you didn't suggest that you would wait until 6 people had objected before removing your vote.

Also, the "
any
" part is worrying. Surely one should wait for a
reasonable
objection.

Members of the minority are much much more likely to worry about going against the majority.

I'd be ok with lynching AbboTT, Cubsfan, or AndrewS.

unvote

I need to think more about where I want my vote.

Err... Well if you want to get stuck on one word in a post that I have already clarified, feel free. But that's pretty scummy in my book.

Searching for excuses, much?

Of course I'm not going to unvote as soon as somebody says "Hey, wait!"
That's not what I meant.

It still sounds like you are afraid of going against the majority. Since when do townies worry about that? On the other hand it's the prime concern of mafia.

But that's pretty scummy in my book.

This is so omgus it's not even funny. What excuses am I searching for, pray tell.

Errr.. Now you are just trying to piss me off. I know you are smarter than that. I'm not going to play your game.

(...Said, of course, as I continue to fall into your trap)

Of course I don't want to go against the majority!

When somebody gets lunched it doesn't matter who came in second place! A vote on somebody who isn't the target of the majority is a wasted vote.

Actually second place matters a lot. If there's a substantial wagon on the second place person and the first place person comes up mafia, you can learn a lot about who voted for second place. A voting record is very important for discerning people's alignment. Your vote is powerful, your vote is important.

talk more. Why are you so quiet when you voted people earlier for not contributing? Hypocritical, no? If you really found them suspicious you would contribute yourself, so I must conclude you were just picking a common reason without really caring, scum.

Why yes. Whoever has the largest number of votes at deadline will be lynched. If there is a tie, whoever reached the largest number first will be lynched. If I am not here, after March 31st 11:59 PM, no other votes/unvotes will count.
