A few days ago I downloaded the phpBB code and I figured that I'd hack out an automated vote counting system, integrated in nicely with the forums (or fora, as would be more grammatically correct, though less widely accepted). After about two minutes of looking though the code, I realised that I know pretty much about nothing about php or sql, and gave up.

My five year goal is to learn php. (Which should be a good goal for a potential future software engineer. )

Also, my shorter term five year goal is to start moderating - as soon as I know if I'll have internet access over the summer, I'll sign up to mod. I don't want to sign up though if I'll have to flake out right away.
