As a funny coincidence, I was discussing a setup idea similar to the vitae system with someone prior to this one starting.
One of the big things we were struggling to work out is how to avoid one group getting all the goodies, and to avoid strategies like that of marketplace mafia 2. Scum gets vitae through NK, town gets vitae through lynch is a fairly elegant way of doing it, which would be attainable only if the scum can't nom.-

I thought that post looked pretty townsided even if you're wrong.
That said, this does make sense, scum probably don't have diablerie votes unless there's some other aspect of the setup we're not aware of yet. That could still leave picking a nullish option as a sort of awkward Vig shot an interesting possibility though.-

Comes with being an undead immortal being. Sometimes I think the Malkavians are the most sane of any of us, really. The rest of us just hide it better. In post 137, Squirrel Girl wrote:

So I dont know the flavor well at all. I skimmed through some White Wolf books eons ago. I don't know what flavor of scum it is but its pretty clear from the few words I had AND THE SETUP that the town is vampires. So I still, from every viber of my soul, don't like Aronis because the parts left out like its not fairly clear. Butttt I can't tell if is drunk or scum.
Now flavor nonwithstanding setup is a different beast. I can't claim to know the inner workings of the Icey Grey tendrils as well as some but I know GI knows balance and a town that requires ~things~ to happen and a scum that doesn't have a hard counterbalance is a town loss.
THAT SAID, finding a way to mitigate the black hole is necessary. Is there any flavor queues that would be stable enough that fakeclaim land wouldn't crack it (I doubt that)?
I almost like squirrels idea of juice the chaff but then you've got to worry about scum chaff and the even more threatening town chaff. I think we need to find that middle ground of a person who is town but not ROCK HARD town tm and shove the magic right down their throats.-

Wait.
Just had an idea.
Is it possible that the scum don't have a nightkill, just a vitae steal?
Becuase my role PM says that if I have no vitae, I die. And I think I can assume that all the vampires have this. So it would make sense that this mechanic would be used by the scum instead of NKs. Becuase either way, it still results in townies dead (scum's objective).
Thoughts? Maybe I'm wrong, but it WOULD provide the balance to the diablarie coordinated nomming. (vitae steal would be, I think, less powerful than a NK)THIS POST IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT.-

I'm town! Or whatever we are called.
So what? what does this mean? Why did you claim before intent to hammer? In post 26, Aronis wrote:Since I am getting voted and flavor claims aren't that important(?).

Again, please do something helpful. In post 74, Aronis wrote: Until I know I'm not going to die within five pages of the start, I have no reason to put effort into helping you idiots find scum.

Hey Aronis, what are your thoughts about anything game related? Players? Wagons? Who was pushing you for scummy reasons? I mean, it's almost page 5, you may as well play the game you signed up for...
Not a helpful post.In post 141, Aronis wrote:

All in all, aronis looks kinda scummy, and seeing that katz could be the game-winning-power-role, I will move my vote.

Reads:
Katsuki, GF, vonflare, monkeyman and empking are all null for the lack of posting.
EDIT: vonflare, lean scum.
Null,
Squirrel Girl, overall she seems town, but this early on, considering the Miller Human claim, Null for now. Maybe she is the blood gifter Kagami mentions?
Displaced, the nomination idea was not ideal, but IMO not really a scumtell at this point or anything alignment indicative at this point.
Lean Town,
LL seems to be genuine and helpful.
Kagami, a couple of her posts stood out, might cover them in a bit.
Sorting spyrex, d3x, and kthxbye now.In post 91, Aronis wrote:

Kthx is alright from what I can tell.
SpyreX is null-ish atm and d3x is null/lean town-ish.
Of course we're just going to happen to 'miss' these posts aren't we?In post 102, Aronis wrote:
I can see both sides, but ultimately I feel like it's secret for a good reason. We can't risk having everyone who gets vitae killed off, so unless a doctor can protect them I still think No and that would require a doctor claiming and they could be killed the next day. I guess BP would work too, but then scum could just claim that.In post 96, displaced wrote:People keep saying this and are probably right but what about the flipside? Not having some organization means the scum team are gonna get the vitae for themselves more often than not. This is just as bad (or worse?) than giving scum extra incentive to kill a particular person, isn't it? I agree that my idea is flawed but we should still try to figure a way to do this better imo

I did give reads with basic explanations. In post 89, Squirrel Girl wrote:
Ghouls are explicitly mentioned in the fluff as the scum. I don't think hat's much of an assumption at all.In post 71, Lady Lambdadelta wrote:While I mostly agree, understand that there are things he can be that are not vampires and still town, assuming Ghouls are scum (which is a rather large assumption, but one that seems fair?).
Also, I don't think there's much value in insulting D3x, let's not do that? This is the Prince's domain after all, and he likes to keep order, and too many insults could unleash the beast

@D3xie - Have you played with Lady Lambda and Spyrex before? They appear mildly attached at the hip in a weird way and I'm trying to figure out why. If it's a normal thing I could at least shrug and walk away from it. Do you have any insight in that regard?
My wagon had no logical explanation behind it. It was based off of an RVS post and I still don't understand it. They were voting me for claiming town. Which is pathetic. It only reeks of their incapabilities in the art of scumhunting.
