It's possible because he's a claimed Ascetic, so he's immune to your power if that's true. If he were a Mafia Ascetic, for instance, he'd have a night-kill and be unblockable.

So I guess I have to go with what I already got instead of hearing from Not_Mafia first. Maestro is super-town. I like Baldeagle, because his odd soft suspicion of Maestro instead of a hard attack after my claim makes sense given the claim that he delivered. He wouldn't buy into my gambit if he had roleblocked Maestro.

That leaves Maru and Not_Mafia. Unfortunately, didn't get much of a read on Not_Mafia because of someone.

To explain my thinking/strategy on that gambit:

Often times, town gambit by claiming a result on someone they think is scum. The problem with this is it is easily seen through. For instance, if there are two scum and I claim one delivered the kill when really the other did, they're going to know I'm lying, and they can play off that to make themselves look like town and confound the situation. Because of this, the information gained from the gambit isn't terribly reliable.

So instead, I claimed a result on my strongest town read and watched how everyone else reacted. Because Not_Mafia was correct, scum wouldn't discard a dayvig. Ever.

P-EDIT: couple reasons why that was a fail, specially with me:
A: I felt legitimately accused, not "reaction-test-cuz-he's-my-strongest-Townread" accused, mainly because...

Exactly. What scum would discard Dayvig to gain WIFOM instead of taking the Dayvig and discarding a role that is not indicative of alignment.

I know exactly zero scum that would take some WIFOM logic as to why they might be town over a guaranteed extra kill.

But that's not where my read on you now comes from, it's just why I chose you as the most likely to be town to test for reactions. Right now, you're town because that was the most town claim possible in the situation.

I hate reaction tests that don't rely on the reaction of the person being tested, it just seems like expecting too much of that person and invariably if they're not in on it / not competent enough to know what's going on, the whole thing is useless

Also I'll go into detail about this if anybody else wants to try it, but there's a semi-foolproof way to claim successfully in this game type given how the Mod sent out Role PMs. If anybody else can figure it out and / or wants to utilize it here be my guest. As the first forum Mod it was a nightmare for me but I specifically told JerryArr about it pre-game and he seemed unperturbed.

I'm ... not sure how that's possible given the result I had? If you had a different PR, I could see myself being busdriven, but a town ascetic would be literally not possible unless there's a role I'm unaware of in the greatest idea role list. Let me double check that list.

I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm going to get lynched because I'm too stupid to realize how the game has just been broken.

The "cards" given to each player are numbered in our Role PMs, Rob.
There can only be one "card" of each number, irregardless of whichever Role is on said numbered card.

Mods should be explicitly told NOT to provide those numbers, because it provides a situation (albeit a risky one) in which all cards obtained by a player could be semi-verified within a reasonable doubt. The reasonable doubt is if somebody was either extremely savvy or extremely lucky or both and picked the specific number of a specific card that ---

A: fit into whatever fake claim they were attempting to produce AND
B: did not directly conflict with the numbered card somebody else got OR
C: did not directly conflict with the numbered card somebody else tried to use for a fake claim

...which admittedly doesn't require TOO much luck, but it makes Roleclaiming a bit more of a locked procedure for Scum and bit more of an obvious-tell for Town.
