Reck accidentally drafts Tavon Austin instead of Miles Austin.
AGar's autopick team ends up with 8 RBs and 3 QBs.
mith doesn't get totally screwed by drafting WR/QB at the turn.

No, another league I am in. I was falling asleep during L2 draft though. Made a few bad choices, didn't help I used classic mode and didn't have the player blurbs which caused me to pick a retired player ffs

L3, last I checked the survey, it wasn't helpful. The time set currently will be the draft. Tried to get as many of us available as I could. Scheduling is tough

I was seriously hoping that Lynch would fall to me at 10 but he got snatched up right after peterson and then graham got autodrafted at 9. Poor me. So because I'm not drafting a non-RB at 10 not named Graham or Megatron, I picked Murray, hopefully it works out cause i have him in every league through sheer luck. My worst play was probably picking Lamar Miller over Trent richardson. but hey, who trust richardson really?

both could be so good, both have guys on their asses for PT.

both are definitely the best options for their respective teams.

His starting team is pretty good with the assumption that none get hurt and all live up to potential, which is what I think those projections are largely based on. Really if he had just drafted a backup WR instead of Cutler, his team would look fine. His large number of RBs are mostly from the last rounds, and the WR you can pick up there aren't that much more likely to pay off than waiver-wire WRs.

not sure, never done this before. Worst nightmare is seeing 6 QB's on my roster or something whack. Or all WR's.

The projections are based on how well you picked based on yahoo's pt projections and vs ADP. Agar doesn't even have a D or a Kicker. The guys who had high draft grades all were on auto pick.

Number one is to force all kickers and D/STs to the 'do not draft' list. If you don't do this then Yahoo will make you pick them before filling your bench, even if you rank them at the bottom of the list. You will have to pick them from the waiver wire later but it's way better than Yahoo deciding that you really want Gostkowski in the ninth round. Don't worry about not filling other positions - Yahoo will make sure you have a starting lineup and will skip over other positions to fill the starters first, so it will pick you 3 receivers in the first 7 rounds even if you rank 50 RBs as your top 50.

I would definitely do what you say with QBs. As Yahoo will attempt to fill your starting lineup before filling the bench, I would take anyone outside of the group of QBs you'd be happy starting and force them to the do not draft list too. If you're more interested in drafting a QB early, then I would make sure the ones you want are relatively high and push the lower tier guys down your rankings too. At worst you should probably get two, and that's only if everyone else in the league waits a long time. You won't have to worry about it taking say Manning and Rodgers, because it will not try to fill your bench until it's done with all the other slots.

If you bear these principles in mind then you should be able to rank sensibly to get your team to resemble something approaching a good lineup. Knowing how your draft slot will pan out early and how it fits in with your personal preference for strategy is good too - if you want mostly lottery-ticket RBs on your bench, then make sure there's no way the autopicker can take 5 or 6 receivers unless those RBs are gone first.

Yahoo's draft grades don't take into account the risk of a player, or the likelihood of the player playing. Some players randomly had inflated ADP's (Tavon Austin, Tony Gonzalez), so those picks will get graded pretty high. My draft grades admonish me for taking AJ Green with my first pick, and I had to swap the way I drafted a few players so Mith wouldn't take them with his double picks between mine. Then Yahoo tries to project schedules, which is just weird.

Yeah, the draft grades are always meaningless, but they are entertaining...
