Why, then, if I were scum, would I just start Day 4 attacking innocent Aero endlessly out of the blue? Wouldn't it have made more sense to just not post at all, lurking together with half of the playerlist, popping out to drop unrelated pictures or inane promises of willingness to work together as a team with anyone who's willing, as some of our less distinguished players have done?

After all, laying low would have made a far better strategy for a scumbag, and then I could have either let Aeronaut lead the charge against whomever he would have picked, or attacked Aeronaut

Just about 6-7 years I have been away. Started playing those faster mafia variants and the ability to actually play mafia suffered because of it. I think my short attention span theatre phase is done with now. Barring that, I do have some catching up to do. I will probably try to break it down day by day (in game terms). So at the least you can see how far I am through the game as I post thoughts on things that had happened long ago.
