First, I could see a powerful scum role or scum team being balanced with potential negative utility.

Second, your abilities are randomized, yes? I'm assuming they can potentially repeat. Therefore, you could be a scum role with PGO/Supersaint/whatever else. Post Restriction is even fakeable. Until your role becomes an Actor/Hated, the chances of your role being scum are at minimum equal to town, and even afterwards there is the chance it's still a scum role.

If I'm wrong, you can call me bad in postgame. The mods can wonder why I'm so off base. But for the time being, I will not concern myself with those opinions.

I'm not unfamiliar with larges, I simply prefer and primarily play Minis. Regardless, my behavior in one game can vary in another, especially between game sizes. Didn't mastin say something to this effect earlier?

For the invention, it could def have a diff mechanic, as it doesn't need to be relegated by the rest of a role.

If one has to die, I would still go Seraphin, because he's the more likely of the two to be scum imo, but in light of all this, I can't justify this.

I think the part of the argument you should really look into is the tone moreso than the mechanics aspect. Sera was obvtownreading Heartless on D1 and his transition into a hardpush on Heartless for differing mechanics feels like it's ignoring that context and there isn't much analysis of Heartless's play in and of itself, which just kind of feels off. I realize that he's promised to elaborate more on Heartless later, but it just feels like if he was town trying to make sense of the situation, he would be engaging Heartless and waiting to do that analysis before being like "HEARTLESS IS SCUMM". Y'know?

I think my opinion on Gilga is inversely linked to Sera now. If Sera is town, then his contrary stature in this situation comes across as more likely to be trying to position himself in a protown position. I think he knows that a Heartless lynch isn't going to happen this cycle, thus he's kind of indirectly positioned himself against a Sera lynch without actually directly connecting himself to the situation. If Sera is scum, then I doubt he'd muck around with trying to derail a scumlynch twice in a row. Would look too bad.
I don't really have much of an opinion on Gilga otherwise. I know linking him to a flip is potentially a little gross looking, but it's more or less how I feel at this point.

In reading the whole exchange, I just stopped getting scumvibes as it proceeded. I believe what Heartless is saying. It makes the most sense. I can kinda see where Sera could be coming from more in a town perspective thn scum though. He seems to think he's got something concrete. It's the conviction and confidence with which he's giving his points. He doesn't think he's right, he KNOWS he's right. This confidence I can't see soming from someone making it all up.
Plus, with the claimed role, I can, as mentioned, understand the mechanic somewhat.

That he refuses to relent likely means we're going to have to choose one though, and I will vote Sera if it comes to that.

What makes my change in read vote worthy? Why would it make me scummy?
