I think you all understood what I meant but in the previous message, I previously stated "walk away or take the $100,000 buyout" When that should have said AND. The message above is edited to reflect the change. I still have not heard from everyone, but there are a few hours left to let me know. The default response I will attribute to any players I do not hear from in time is to not accept the buyout and continue on with the game.

Without further ado, let's get on with this game, shall we?

Which of these cities is serviced by one of the top five busiest airports in the world in 2013?

A. Amsterdam
B. Atlanta

C. Beijing

D. Chicago

E. Hong Kong
F. New York
G. Paris
H. Tokyo

Here is what we have so far, our four players know that Beijing, Chicago, and Tokyo, are all correct answers. How much did they want to bet that Atlanta was also correct? Is it worth passing up the cool $100,000 offered to them? Let's find out what our team decided! Did they take the
BUYOUT
or did they choose to
KEEP GOING
!

Spoiler: What did Captain doctorwho decide?
KEEP GOING
! The captain has decided to stay the course!

Spoiler: What did Blackberry decide?
KEEP GOING
!

Spoiler: What did CuddlyCaucasian decide?
KEEP GOING
!

Spoiler: What did RedCoyote decide?
KEEP GOING
!

Spoiler: RESULTS
This means the whole team is banking on Atlanta being a correct answer! Is it though? Is it?

Congrats! You have completed round 7 and have earned $1,000,000 as a team! Normally the Captain decides whether they want to keep going or take the money and run. This time however, because it is question 8, every player is given the choice to take home their portion of the current total so far. Now I am doing it a bit differently than STD had it set up. Any money collected from buying out does not subtract from the pool of money in the next question, meaning whoever remains will be able to split the $2,000,000 prize in it's entirety... provided they get all the answers right. Everything else is the same as before. No answers can be changed, so you must pick the 4 correct answers. You will know the category beforehand, which is
Dog Breeds
. So it is up to you decide whether you want $200,000 now, ($400,000 if you are CuddlyCaucasian) or if you want to risk it all for the $2,000,000 prize. There will be no more buyouts after this one either, so the only way to win any money if you choose to stay is to get all the answers correct. You do have an unused freebie, so one wrong answer will randomly be removed.

So players have 24 hours from now to decide whether to stay or opt for the buyout. Please PM me whether you want to A) STAY or B) WALK AWAY. You will be selected to stay if you do not PM in 24 hours, but please PM me your preference even if that is what you want to do.

Players who have yet to do so have ~6 hours to PM me. Don't make me track you down! I want to hear from you rather than advance you by default. If anyone thinks the 24 hour deadlines imposed in this game for things like this are too short let me know. It is actually kind of arbitrary and designed to keep the game moving along but I don't actually think it is nessecary right now, after giving it some thought. I am going to extend the deadline to 48 hours from my previous post and I will default you to staying at that time if it gets there, but I can also (and would much rather) continue with this game when I receive submissions from everyone.

Once again the team was offered a buyout! This time it was worth $200,000 or $400,000 for CuddlyCacuasian. Who took the buyout? Who chose to keep going? Let's find out!

Spoiler: What did Captain doctorwho decide?
KEEP GOING
!

Spoiler: What did Blackberry decide?
KEEP GOING
!

Spoiler: What did CuddlyCaucasian decide?
KEEP GOING
!

Spoiler: What did RedCoyote decide?
KEEP GOING
!

Spoiler: Result
Everyone has decided to stick around! So now, everyone will either walk away with their share of the $2,000,000 which is $800,000 for CuddlyCaucasian and $400,000 for the rest of the team. Or they will walk away with nothing. How much do you all know about dog breeds? You all seemed pretty confident in your response to me! In this case, Red Coyote will supply an answer, then CuddlyCaucasian, then Blackberry and finally doctorwho. If all four of your answers are correct, then you will win! If anyone guesses incorrectly you all walk away with nothing! Best of luck to our contestants. The question will be posted shortly!

The studio lights shine brightly on the 4 remaining contestants. Excitement flows through the audience. They are beside themselves, mostly because they are sitting in rows next to each other, but they are also beside themselves with excitement. With anticipation. Whispers flow between the audience members. Are those answers correct? How does one determine how smart a dog is. Why does the devilishly handsome host keep saying "Poooooooooooodle?"

Contestants! You are moments away from finding out whether you are walking away with a cut of the $2,000,000 or walking away with nothing. All four answers must be correct. Are you ready?

YES! THE ANSWER IS YES! CONGRATULATIONS TEAM! YOU HAVE WON!

Confetti and streamers drop from the ceiling upon the contestants! The audience erupts in applause and cheers! Attractive people hand big oversized checks to our players, 3 with the denomination 400,000 for RedCoyote, Blackberry, and doctorwho, and one in 800,000 for CuddlyCaucasian.

Good job team! I had a blast doing this. There were some minor hiccups along the way but I sincerely thank all five of you for playing, and for everyone who attempted the qualifier. I will tidy up the rules section but be on the lookout for game 8, which might actually be up real soon!

I said about, which I realize is a whishy-washy term and one I should not have used. I meant to say rounded to the nearest millionth of a km, but I think that has been more or less understood by everyone. Your decimal points will not help or hurt you in this case. I do appreciate that you are challenging me to phrase my questions better. :)

I am looking for a whole number here, no decimal points required. And remember my question is asked in
millions
of kilometers, so you don't need to add extra zeroes to it.

Now I have already admitted I had worded this funny. But I don't think it affected the results. I am very pleased with the response I got this time. Some folks who have played before, and some folks who are haven't played before, maybe even haven't attempted the qualifier. We had 12 folks answer the qualifier this time! Thank you all for giving it your best shot! But only 5 of you will make it into game 8's team. So let's see who we have here?

Oh right, how about the answer first. What was it? At aphelion, the farthest distance from the sun the Earth is at 152 million kilometers from the sun. (If you round to the nearest millionth of a kilometer which I should have stated in the first place). Guess what, someone got it right.

We have another tie! Turns out my question wasn't as tricky as I thought and 5 sharp individuals were 2 away or closer. Congrats to those five, who will be making up our team.

And thanks to all the rest who responded. The qualifier is a unique thing that really adds to the flavor of this game and it only works if there is a large and healthy pool of people giving it a shot so I really appriciate you trying. If you didn't make the team this time around please try again next time.

But we have to figure out who's 3rd and who's 4th.

The person who PMed me first was... PrivateI! Congratulations! This means StrangerCoug takes the 4th spot! What an interesting team! A couple of previous captains (StrangerCoug and Diginova) and a couple of new faces (PrivateI and JasonWazza) and D3f3nd3r, the only player among the top 10 players in Greed to have only played 1 game so far! Question 1 should be up shortly!
