Only in the GSM version. I'm going based off the official show rules, in which it's just down the line.

Will
carbonic acid
fare better? Let's see what the survey says.

Image

Spoiler: Results
Yes! A
5
is a very good score as well.

Alright, well I know a lot of these acids are really really common, but I'm going to go with the one that I'm pretty confident most people wouldn't know off the top of their heads in the time limit given.

Rhubarby poison thing: Oxalic acid

Is
oxalic acid
a good reason not to eat your vegetables? Probably not, but let's see if it's correct anyway.

Image

Spoiler: Results
And a
4
is best on this pass and on the board.

Image

Sadly, Jelly,
ascorbic acid
is Vitamin C, scoring
15
.
Folic acid
is actually elsewhere on the board and is a vitamin, Vitamin B9, scoring
36
.

Here's the rest of the board.

Will the second players please step up to the podium as we have six new acids for you on this pass.

Cybele

Hmm. Is it just me, or was the last board a lot easier? I knew 4 of those, but this one... well, I'll take a guess. I'm
pretty
sure that LSD is lysergic acid diethalymide, so I'll try for
Lysergic Acid
.

Will
lysergic acid
make a green unicorn race across the lab? There's your red line nice and high.

Image

Spoiler: Results
12
acid trips put you through to the next round.

There's only one answer up there I even have a guess at, so let's do lemons: citric acid

Will
citric acid
be enough to put you through?

Image

Spoiler: Results
62
is a high score, but it's enough to guarantee your position.

vinegar is Acetic Acid (or something like that) and probably what i would have gone with originally, but...
caustic ant nettle one i don't know
LSD i didn't know but i think i did at one point
lemons was citric mmmmm
milk is lactic acid i believe sour milk is blech
the last one i think has the best chance of being low and i'm going off of Full Metal Alchemist here, where he turns the solid byproduct of coal into gold. i know nothing about coal mining, but the author calls it:
culm

no reason not to risk it!

Is
culm
a diamond or just useless coal?

Image

Spoiler: Results
I'm sorry, that's an incorrect answer, but it was a good shot at glory. It does give you a reason to celebrate though as the first members of the Pointless
200 club
.

Image

You did have the correct idea, Save the Dragons, as the coal tar solid is a
Pointless
answer, but it's
carbolic acid
.
Culm
is another term for coal dust.
You were correct on one and five as well.

Here's the rest of the board.

Spoiler: Elimination
Only two can move on, though, and that means we have to say goodbye to
Save the Dragons
and
ForWhomTheJellyRolls
, but you are leaving us with £250 for the one Pointless answer you found in Round I.
I hope we see you again!

For the remaining two pairs, things are about to get even more exciting now as we enter the head-to-head.
Well, congratulations,
Cybele and Xofelf
,
Cephrir and ZZZX
. You're now only one round away from the final and the chance to play for our jackpot which currently stands at £1,000.
You're going to go head-to-head and the first pair to win two questions will play for that jackpot, but the important news is you're now allowed to confer. So, from here on in, you play as teams.

Our first category for the head-to-head is
The FIFA World Cup
.
We're going to show you five facts about the World Cup, and your goal is to tell us the most obscure.

Image

Cybele and Xofelf
, you played best so far this game, so you get to go first.
Cephrir and ZZZX
, the results will not be revealed until after both of you have selected your answers, so feel free to choose immediately afterwards. You can choose the same fact if you think their answer is incorrect.

Okay, we're going to try for the last one, the Italian city that hosted the World Cup final... which we're hoping was
Rome
.
