Turns out this is a hard question, so let's break out the answer choices. Get it right and you'll earn a spin apiece.

QUESTION 2 OF 4

On November 7, 2000, the Flying Squad of the Metropolitan Police Service foiled what would then have been the world's biggest robbery when it caught a gang of seven thieves trying to steal £350 million (then about $500 million) worth of diamonds from what London landmark now officially known as The O2?

  1. Wembley Arena
  2. Millennium Dome
  3. Piccadilly Circus

It makes no sense to me that half a billion in diamonds would've been at
any
of those places, so I have no clue.

Logically, though, it's not C (that's a traffic circle, not a "place"), it's probably not A (isn't that a tennis place?) so it must (he said with zero confidence) be B.

Nobody Special gets a spin for his excellent deductive work!

(And to add insult to injury: De Beers was aware that there was a plot to steal their diamonds, so replicas of those diamonds were in the exhibit there that day.)
QUESTION 3 OF 4

You were so close to becoming the valedictorian in your graduating class. Dang. You weren't the highest graduate in your class, but you were the second-highest graduate. In the American tradition, what are you?

In American tradition, the second-highest graduate of a class is the salutatorian.

QUESTION 3 OF 4

  1. Academician
  2. Salutatorian

  3. Emeritus

Everybody picks up a spin and goes to two!

Fourth and final question:
QUESTION 4 OF 4

After the Fall
,
Death of a Salesman
, and
A View from the Bridge
are all plays by what playwright?

We're back with Press Your Luck. It's the first Big Board round, and as you see, we've tinkered with it a tad over the break (mostly with color):
Image
Tens of thousands of dollars in cash and prizes up there, but also a few Whammies. You don't want those.

Image
We have a tie for the fewest number of spins, so we go to the left and start with JDGA. Are you ready to press your luck?

Your first spin stops at...
Image
...a
WÜSTHOF GOURMET 36 PC. KNIFE BLOCK SET
worth $1,680.
Image

Your second spin stops at...
Image
...
FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS!

Image

Your third spin stops at...
Image
...one thousand, five hundred dollars.
Image
That gives you seven thousand, one hundred eighty dollars cash and prizes. Let's see how well that lead holds up as we go to puzzledan, who also has three spins. Are you ready to press your luck?
