When you think about it, if you kept 3 wards alive all game it'd be 1 ward/minute from when you bought your sightstone. Add a few vision kills and a few pinks and I think 1/min or .8/minute is probably a good goal.
It's unfortunate that good oral sex excuses bad chemistry. - Korts
I never place wards. I think placing them more might move me up half a tier. I also never look at the map, so maybe if I combine both techniques I'd be diamond.

I still think that placing an average of half a ward a minute throughout the game is probably not sufficient.
Look at the kass again. He placed 15 wards himself, bought the upgrade on his trinket (so they last). He wasn't just fed kills by his team, he was carrying all over.
I checked a 33 min game where I was support, we ended up on a similar total of wards, only difference was the distribution. Kass mostly, darius some, picked up cabd's slack. They did have a lot of wards, probably, and that let them find picks.
Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.
on a similar note, I love sightstone on junglers. It's a slight tempo hit that makes life so incredibly easy when you are winning. And ap-tank junglers, which I play anyway, really don't care much about the tempo hit in stats.

I know I haven't played this game in forever due to life/priorities etc, but I have been following along with this thread, the new stuff that comes out, and some streamers.
Back when I was still playing a lot, changing these two things significantly changed how well I did in ranked games. Warding more takes effort and placement knowledge (not really any skill) but looking at the minimap effectively is just a habit you have to force and get good at. If you're warding more, though, you will naturally have to be looking at your minimap more to be able to get wards down at opportune times. (As support for example) You glance at your minimap and see their jungler was top and now you know he's not about to cut that corner to gank you, so you could potentially place a more outwards ward if you like, or even ward the buff he isn't at.
So to put it simply yes those are little things worth changing that will make things better for you. One more person paying attention and doing a good job is better than no one~
This is how I prefer to do vision (and how we do things on my widely-varied-elo ranked team)
AD: I just get yellow trinket when I hit level 9 and keep a friendly buff pinked (don't want to replace it much). Ward important bushes on whatever part of map I happen to be on.
Support: Sightstone + red trinket + pink tri or river (deeper wards if I am tanky / won't die if I run into someone)
Mid: red trinket (so I can try to get picks in bushes), pink river or buff
Jungle: Sightstone + red trinket; deep wards. Pink neutral monsters, stealthed champions, enemy buffs (or friendly buffs if behind) Maybe different for lower health jungles.
Top: I like to pink the second top lane bush late in laning phase. Tends to last a really long time. Prefer yellow trinket upgrade so I can splitpush safely (I go nasus / fiora / malphite with TP).
Do we have 5 active gold/plat/diamond range players on MS who could form a ranked team? SAD and I are both high plat / likely to hit D5 soon; he plays mostly mid and I mostly AD.

I'm very active and in diamond myself. However, I also main AD and mid.

I'm a big fan of getting blue trinket on AD. It helps a lot to check areas that are unsafe to ward, or for checking baron/drag from a distance.
I'm on a huge loss streak. I've lost my last 5 ranked games (plus a bunch of normals and arams). I know it happens to everyone, but idk. It's just really discouraging considering I just started playing ranked.
Also, I learned that I'm god awful at playing from behind. I just can't do it as any champ or under any circumstances.
