I'm annoyed that I only have two townreads so far on page 5 (ZZZX and ABR) and it somehow feels like not much is going down. I wonder if this is the result of rust or the fact that half this thread is two guys or my general antsiness. Or a combination of all three.

Normally, I hate blowing my load this early when there's some things I like to see responded to but I need to push this game forward for myself.

I managed to get Regfan online before he had to go to work and we had a chance to discuss some stuff. We mostly seem to be on the same page which reassures me so here's what we discussed and agreed on.

ZZZX:

Both of us agreed that this is one townie dude. We've found pretty much all of his posting genuine, from the stating the Metal townread in #21 to the transition into being more unsure in #51 due to the slip, and also his entire reaction to ABR's posting. Regfan also thinks his hesitation on calling me town due to not having played with me before in #47 is also genuine, too, but I'm a bit more reluctant on this point and it's going to take some [superficial] meta investigation re: his overall competency as a player to check this out - I will say he's definitely improved since that one game where I modded him (I think that was his first game on site?). Regfan also mentioned he had some meta to share with me but he didn't have the time to share it and I don't have the time right now to look it up myself.

ABR:

This one is based almost entirely on my own meta assumptions (which Regfan agreed with) but from what I know, town-ABR is way more of a "lone wolf"-type and he doesn't really give a shit about other people's opinions or reads, especially once he's fixated on someone. Scum-ABR seems a lot more dispassionate, more willing to level with people, and overall a lot "nicer" and by the book. His early game spat here with wgeurts and getting super angry at him for trying to interfere with his autonomy and his own scumhunting style fits way more of what I knowof him as town.

SilverWolf:

#55 reads like contribution without contribution, mostly just posting agreeable stuff with no original content - the townread on ZZZX at the end of it seems a bit tacked on.

Metal Sonic:

Aside from the stuff I pointed out about regarding his tokens, a lot of his posts read like he's sucking up to/buddying/whatever you want to call it to his friends/stronger players in the room (see: #22, #34-#35, and #45 in particular.)

We are missing EddieFenix, Hoopla, Sotty7, and Seraphim's post was such a non-entry that it actually might have removed information from the thread. He's my vote for coasting scum by the by.

But two of those were names I twigged as likely to token scum, alongside you and Nacho. Especially Hoopla, as tokening scum in this setup fits her profile.

Nightless games inevitably snowball. See Camden, or my setup I designed with Hito. At the moment we have 4 mislynches to town loss, but after a single scum lynch we get a spare mislynch. 5 mislynches is nice. Two scum die, and we get 6. That's really nice. 3, and we get 7 fucking mislynches, and if we manage that we should all quit the site.

So the scum are going to be looking to vote as a block. I smell protectionist scum who wish to work together.

Uh, I suggested that because that's exactly how I won a Nightless variant as town. I get that there is a snowball effect that happens. But boxing out the scum forces them to either give up their entire team via those "protectionist" interactions or bussing one of their own (as happened in that game...the scum had to do a WF gambit to try and survive).

And uh, re: the idea of me betting scum tokens on this game...how much have you and your team talked about this playerlist?

Last time I played with her, she left the site (or almost left the site?) because she was tired of the paranoia following her around because of her scum game. I doubt she has enough confidence or desire to play around that paranoia when it's correct/deal with the added pressure of getting lynched.

Yeah this is true. I've pretty much stopped playing for the most part unless I get the itch and find a game/player list I really like the look of. I'm playing in Team Mafia because our team won all our games in the last one but were only beaten by The Captains on points so Zor gave us an auto in for this one.

I like ZZZX a lot. My strongest town read at this point. Actively searching and making some good points (#82 wegurts discrepancy in voting ABR and not GreyICE) and his idea to form a voting bloc is something I'm all about

ABR is also probably town here. Passion in his posts. If he isn't it will show over time, he becomes extremely apathetic when scum.

Empire can be town also for post 105. Thinking the same thing.

As for recent play experience, I'll save your team the digging - I've been semi-retired for ages. I think the last game I played with Hoopla was like a year ago. My work schedule, moving, and a whole lot of shit has fucked my ability to commit to mafia.

I don't remember the exact games but I have played with you a long time ago and didn't really enjoy it. Our styles back then clashed way too much so I did my best to avoid you after that for my own sanity. Faraday's Metal gear I think the big one was, you had a blow up with Reck and I was hydring with Zach. The pair of you flooded the thread and I think we got vigg'ed as a result.

Why do I think you would spend tokens on your scum play? It's literally legendary. Believe it or not, I don't think that the tokens were spent "counterintuitively" very often. You'd hardly be the first returning player to take scum (mith himself did it in the first one).

Why you? I wanted to see how you'd respond. Hoopla just complains that everyone always finds her scummy, she'll pop up with some theory blather in a few days. I was hoping you'd be more interesting. And you were.
