Is there a reason that people play modern?
Because the meta at-large is really fun?
Yes, but the more I read about the decks it seems like it's Rock, Paper, Scissors, and anything else kind of gets beaten down by any of the 2, making it...a casual deck?
I've never liked modern. But if your local meta is all burn play a fun brew that beats it and has a bit of game against other decks. You will have more fun.

Both of those are probably the decks I'd put together if I wanted to start putting together an MTGO collection. The lack of Fulminators doesn't bother me at all for Living End, that'll happen over time.
I am still interested in these if you want to discuss something.

I thought I said something before you posted the doc

It's a great limited card, but stacking +1/+1 counters on it will mean very little if you tap out for it turn 5 and, say, an opponent on Abzan Midrange/Control goes "Ultimate Price your Sunscorch, Anafenza The Foremost/Courser/hold up Downfall, go". Sunscorch is good in Limited because removal is at a premium and most people are relying on damage/fight effects at the moment. Standard decks do not have that issue.
Yes, this is all true.
The only way he really sticks is if there are other, worse threats that have to be dealt with. But then I'm giving up spots for what are probably better cards.
Gave up on this one for now.
But, put the Dragons in the Azban deck (I was already running white.... )
I'm sporting Temur Dragons right now. Basically RG Ramp, running blue for Kiora, Sarkhan Unbroken, and 2 Icefall Regents. Sarkhan/Kiora have been outstanding against most of the decks I've come up against, but Icefall is just awful in a ton of matches. I'm thinking I want to cut the Icefalls for Stormbreaths in the maindeck, and move them to the side.

Why are the Regents bad? What are they doing/not doing that you expected them to? or is it something else?
Yes- all cost increases and cost reductions for mana are calculated before they are applied. So that does work.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

Honestly, they're just not being good. Locking down one creature isn't that great in the matchups I struggle with, and I don't need the extra support in the good matchups.
Roll call. Who else is going? If we have enough it would be cool to have a MS dinner/drinks one of the days. I'll be there Thursday night til monday morning (maybe later on monday. I haven't booked my flights yet.)
Also, I'll be with 3 other goons who are likely to like games like mafia (my buddy nick even comes to some of our meets here) so maybe we can even get a drunken mafia game going one of the nights.

I wish I could be there. MM2015 looks awesome, and I really want to get to a 2015 GP for the Griselbrand promo for my Reanimator deck. Good luck!
