It will save us from claiming shenanigans later on. Especially if we run up a demon and they claim angel (and then the angel is put in a position over whether they should cc or not).

But unless Kats screamed the whole night and even then somehow got angel to shoot universally-townread obvtown I highly doubt that. Most likely scum killed her and found angel too.

It's possible. But then where's the angel shot? I didn't think AA9 was a possible candidate for being the angel, so it makes less since to me as a scum shot. I'm just making assumptions based on how I would approach this setup as scum.

Look, the fact of the matter is, there was only one person that was killed. Possible reasons why:

1) Scum and Angel shot the same person.
2) Scum shot Angel and Angel shot AA9.
3) Scum didn't shoot and Angel shot AA9.
4) Scum shot AA9 and Angel didn't shoot.

Actually, now that I am thinking about it. Angel shouldn't claim.

It makes more sense that scum would try to kill sinning villagers to thin the herd and use rb to block Angel than waste both their kill and rb trying to find it.

I don't understand how the latter is in any way a viable scum approach.

I didn't really consider that the angel or scumteam may have forewent a shot as a strategy to try and get the angel to come out. That would be ballsy, but it's possible.

I know it's your MO to follow along with the crowd without any sort of independent thought of your own, but I have since retracted my earlier push for an angel claim. I hadn't really considered the fact that one of the groups may have deliberately not shot... so I kind of stuck my foot in my mouth in that regard. Glass is right. There isn't enough information yet to jump to any conclusions. Occum's Razor tells me that Kat dictated that the angel shoot AA9 and the scum shot the angel (hence no other kill), but I'm approaching the night from a mentality of what I would do as scum.

Either Angel shot AA9 (very unlikely), didn't shoot (also not likely on Night 2 with only 1 sin per vill) or was roleblocked (significantly more likely by virtue of the others being not). I consider the last one likely enough that angel should claim, and if they didn't do either of the former two then definitely claim because scum will be 95% sure they RBed the right one anyway, and I'd rather go D3 with speaker-for-the-dead-conftown to latch onto.

I understand that. I just feel there's no point in having the angel claim, and I get this idea that the scum wants them to, so one can get them lynched. You said this and it's started others thinking it's a good idea. Could they be your scumbuddies? I don't think it's for the best for anyone to know who they are.

Angel claiming and then getting lynched for it is literally the dumbest suggestion of "what could happen".

I'm not going to question that it COULD happen considering general town dysfunctionality lately, but if there's ever two Angel claims it should be really REALLY easy to sort them.
