Hatsuse and Yae entered the tournament hall. The sound of a crowd murmuring resonated throughout the lobby. Hatsuse could tell there was *something* going on, and she was curious. Then they went to one of the several spectators' rooms, and noticed there weren't any matches going on, and that most of them were anywhere from empty to only half full. The people who were in the rooms, rather than watching the screen, were talking amongst themselves.

"Is something going on? I wonder ..."

"... Eh, no matter. Let's find Ako!"

After a bit of searching, Hatsuse spotted a familiar-looking figure walking in their direction, although she couldn't quite place where she had seen her before. Her long, brown hair was gathered into a ponytail, and she was wearing a sleeveless track jacket. More importantly, it looked like she wasn't wearing ... pants? Then she noticed Hatsuse's presence, pausing for a moment.

"... You're Hatsuse, aren't you?!"

The girl seemed excited.

"I've seen you before! You're a friend of Atarashi Ako, correct?"

Hatsuse's face lit up with a spark of recognition. She now knew she was talking with one of Ako's teammates, who she had most recently seen standing next to Ako when she had sent her off.

"Yeah. But you two left before we could be formally introduced ..."

"Ah, sorry. I'm Takakamo Shizuno. Nice to meet you!"

"I'm Okahashi Hatsuse. Nice to meet you! ... Where *is* Ako, anyway?"

"Yeah, about that ..."

The other noticeable thing about this girl was that there was a significant fire in the girl's eyes; it was fairly obvious something was amiss.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the tournament hall, someone was running around, panicking and calling for someone else. She looked like she had lost somebody.

"Toki! ... Toki! Where are you?!"

She was wearing the uniform of Senriyama Girls' High, and she looked very upset. Immediately, she ran to the Senriyama dressing room. No one was there. She then ran to another room in the building, where several dozen other students, wearing similar uniforms, were waiting. Senriyama was considered by many to be the "veteran" school - having made it to the Nationals the past eleven years, and being second ranked in the country - and as a result, they were well accustomed to traveling there.

"Everyone! Have any of you seen Toki?!"

Silence.

Already, she was on the verge of tears. Whoever this was was apparently very important to her.

Her voice shook. "She was right next to me until a few minutes ago. I tried calling her cell, and everything, but ... nothing. ... None of you have really seen her?"

"Have you tried calling Hiroko, or any of the others? I would expect if anyone could find her, it would be her."

One of the students spoke up. It was then decided that the student base would help search the building for her - with this many students, they would find her in no time - while Ryuuka would contact the remainder of their team.
