However, the big question is this: is Firebringer reckless town, or scum hiding in Refuge in Audacity?

Say he's scum, and he knows who else is scum. Who's to say he didn't make that challenge so that he's the only scum in the four? That gives him pretty good odds for scum not being lynched, as well as being town read for recklessness.

Needless to say, I'm really wary.

It this really a reason to suspect someone? Based off the fact they've been scum in previous games where you were townie? I kind of like the idea of that , but I will not vote for such a reason.

And et al, everyone telling me that I'm voting fire because gamblers fallacy. Which...isn't what I did.

His litle back and forth about "haha are we finally on the same team, who knowwws " struck me as a scummy reaction. Like he's teasing me about it. I read it as scum. I'm not voting him for never rolling the same alignment as me and saying that I am seems like a really shitty way to discard my vote and tell me I'm bad.

Anyway, what really gets me is making a challenge on PAGE FUCKIN 3, when the challenged hadn't even posted yet. I could go on about how bad that is but davstos beat me to it a post or two above (tho I totes told titus the exact same thing in our pt I am not bad guys pls believe)

Fire brings the lynch pool to 4 people. Right off the bat. If he's scum he can guarantee no scummates are killed today. And then everyone throws him a townread because "lol that's too dumb and reckless to not be town"

It makes a world of sense for fire to do this as scum. It makes zero sense to do it as town.

Like, jeez. He essentially showed up and gladiated someone for his rvs. And he's already bragging about doing it again day 2? No. Nooooo. He's either scum (my personal belief) or worst case scenario he's town that is going to sabotage us so bad that he is my first officially endorsed policy lynch in any of my games ever.

As an aside. The correct town play to make here would be to play conservatively; to gather everyone's input, decide as a whole who needs to be lynched before a challenge is issued, and then systematically lynch that player.

Suggestion: imagine a world where no challenge has been issued for this phase. Everyone casts an unofficial vote. We could keep an unofficial vote count. Once we've agreed who dies today by way of unofficial vote, we challenge their team and kill em off. Not agreeing to do this = scum throwing up smoke and disorienting us. *stares at fire*

Btw people should stop voting FB unless they can explain why scum would so carelessly townread their PT buddy and why scum would issue a challenge so early and put their life on the line.

I mean, why wouldn't a town want control of who is challenged and not?
If scum picked wouldn't they be likely to pick a group that doesn't have a lot of scum?

I took that out of the equation. Scum didn't chose this Challenge, town did.

What incentive is there to do any of that? Let's say I can make a rock solid case on Sal. I can't get him lynched.

On the other end, a scumread you can't lynch is easy to confbias. People start reaching that read to fit in their pools.

Then, town and scum race to challenge before firebringer removes the chance.

Not a good situation for us as a whole.

For this lets make 2 assumptions:
1) I am town
2) Vedith is also town.

Okay so that leaves 10 players left of unknown alignments. We know 4 scum out of that so theres 4/10. 40% chance of picking a scum player randomly. However you pick a pair not just one pair.

Lets see:
What are chances that a pair is completely town? 33% (6/10 * 5/9)
One is town other is scum? 53% (6/10*4/9 + 4/10*6/9)
Both are scum? 13% (4/10*3/9)

So roughly 67% chance I got us scum in this group.
