Ok. Is it a bad idea to claim kingmaker? I've never played a kingmaker before. I was just thinking the worst that happens is they get killed at night and a new kingmaker is chosen. But at least it's a confirmed town position every day...

I think the Kingmaker should only claim when the King states the intent to execute him.

I think not claiming would be optimal, honestly. Unless you're about to be executed by King (oh yeh please state intent before executing for this) or to counter claim. It's not info we need except in those circumstances, but leaving mafia in the dark is always good.

It's easier to use town/Mafia, those are the terms in my head. Like I used town/Mafia for Legends of the Hidden Temple despite it being Explorers/Guards technically.

Alright but the confirmed town each day seems better than the cons. Or am I missing something. But why would you claim if you're about to be executed by the king? Because I'm pretty sure the king isn't guaranteed to be town...

The hammerer on regular voting is also not necessarily town so why claim at L-1?
And if scum can just keep killing the conftown we won't have NKA. Also, kingmaker can be cc'ed and the king could make the wrong choice, and a scum-king could hide behind making a bad decision over executing town on purpose. So no, kingmaker doesn't claim.

Even after an intent to execute are you saying? The nka is the best argument to not claim. Conftown wouldn't be important now, but later game it will be.
