how do you approach the game if you can't form reads?

this is honestly a question that i've asked myself for a while.
mostly, i try to figure out why people perform night actions and see if it makes sense given the game state.

unfortunately, this always fails in the early game.
seems to be better in the late game, but in the end i screw something up.

Why do you assume Sakura is town?

so i have this problem.
whenever i try to form reads, i always go "Sakura can't be scum"
she's been scum when i've been town... a few times i want to say.
in all events, it goes "Sakura can't be scum" and when she is i go "hah" and when she isn't i go "see"
just like my ns paranoia, i'm just gonna go with "sakura is town" from now on

FYI I think Gaiden's game this game is completely different from other games I have played where he has been town. I have never seen scum!Gaiden though. I have a 100% track record of killing Gaiden night 1 regardless of my alignment though.

Iirc I did ask earlier in day 1 "is this a tell for Gaiden?" And was told nah by Pie iirc. Do you (muffin) think its indicative?

Eg some players like Dan never post unless they are scum.

I still don't like feysal, and I don't think scum are designating any mislynches on D1.

Gaiden's play is wildly different than usual, which potentially stems from fear of currently living players.

Among the SDMers, I find pie a little off, but meh. Pie and Gaiden couldn't be scum together, though; Gaiden-scum is indeed afraid of sakura and pie wouldn't have put her is a hood that he'd be expected to crash.

I have to revisit my relentless read when I have time.
