Should I post an elaboration on the special mechanics here or are you all cool with waiting until the game-thread is up (once signups are done) to read over them?
In short-hand:
-You'll be able to pick your alignment in pre-game.
-You'll be dealt two rolecards and you'll pick your role at the same time you pick alignment.
-Fusion and Alliances will make a return from the first game with a few small differences (Fusions are riskier now but typically reward a stronger PR).
