He wasn't assigned, he decided to do it himself.
The whole timeline was:

1. Spiffeh was assigned to me, DS was assigned to SDB, I announced that I'll target Marquis in the game thread.
2. I've asked them to swap in the hood, later I changed my mind and asked them both to target me, Spiffeh refused to, DS agreed and asked Spiffeh to do it as well.
3. I've announced that I'll target Titus in the hood.
4. Night deadline came.
5. I said my target was actually SDB in the hood.
6. Spiffeh said he actually targeted me in the hood.

No. I meant shoot Nether. DS looks a lot better if he goes to Marquis with Nether dying in the night. The cop check never would happen and thus DS looks better for trying to guess which one was shot.

Noether's plan is brilliant for Nether scum. As the cop, if DS doesn't get a result, Nether is fucked. Yet, killing DS is suboptimal given he's a mislynch. So he suggests Nether target Marquis to wifom the kill.
