Going to give this a bump to see if there are any newbies who want to join, etc. I'll start posting details for the keeper league soon.

also, if any of you are around in an hour and a half (2:30 EST), I'm doing a stupid draft. It's a set and forget league: no transactions, no bench, points league with 1 point for each total base, 1 point for a walk, 1 point for a stolen base. So there's no reason not to play everyone. Batters Only.

So the idea is that you have a fun draft and then never think about it until the end of the season. The rosters are huge, though.

Keeper Costs

Please refer to this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing The value to the very right is the price you'll need to pay this year to keep a player. Keep in mind that the teams shown are the teams who INITIALLY drafted the player, and you can only keep a player if they were on your final roster.

If you want to keep a player you picked up as a free agent who was NOT drafted via the auction, the price is $5.

Deadline Date

will be 7 days before the keeper auction. I'm going to submit a form for you guys to use to indicate draft and auction availability.

If you are playing in the Auction keeper, please PM Zoraster your choices (up to 6) including the price at which you are keeping them. You can find the price of each player here. You may only keep players on your final roster. Any player that was not drafted may be kept for $5.

Apologies to D3f3nd3r and kmd who miss both drafts. Anix misses the Auction draft. I tried hard to get D3f3nder (our second place finisher in the auction league) to the auction draft, but it's hilarious how his and LL's draft availability doesn't overlap.

Okay, the Main league draft time is now 4:15pm on Saturday, March 12th. I'll send out a reminder of this when we get a bit closer.

Teams are now finalized for the Main Head to Head league. I'll do the draft order shortly.

So I'm going to try a new style of draft order picking. Everyone will pick which spot they want to draft from 1-12. Then I'll randomly generate a choice order. The first person will get his or her choice of draft position. The second person will get his or her draft choice unless the first person picked it, in which case that person will get his or her second choice pick and so on. If a team doesn't submit their choice via the form, it'll be assumed he wants 1st pick as 1st choice, 2nd pick as 2nd choice, etc.

LL, we have the exact same draft order preferences except we swapped two draft spots, the 4th and 6th. It's kind of impressive, really, given that our order isn't something totally simple.

Okay, draft preference order is now set. About half the league submitted. The others just have their 1st choice as 1st pick and so on.

The first dice number, the highest number gets first choice. The second highest, second choice, etc. The second number is to break any ties.

The asterixes indicate a person didn't actually fill out a form. Of those who filled out a form, Yiley CLEARLY got the raw end of the deal as everyone else got their 5th or better choice. It's kind of impressive that the first four people got their first pick!

That is weird. I guess there's sort of a pattern to it, but outside of the top 3 it's pretty strange that we'd pick the same thing.

Yeah. Maybe we had a similar read on the top 3 and then basically said "okay, well. I'd rather just play it by ear and get nearer the turn"?

To be fair, I think our categories are probably the weirdest thing.

yeah, very true! I wonder if we'll feel the 3 transactions per week max thing more this year. Replacement level for pitchers last year was pretty grim.

no, it's my fault. i do everything on here in East coast time even though i live in CST. But yahoo automatically set it to central. I've fixed it.

Hopefully that doesn't screw anyone up.

With 12 teams, it makes the most sense not to do divisions and run the season for 22 weeks, with playoffs in week 23 and 24 (and 25 if we want 6 teams in the playoffs). The other option that makes sense is two divisions of 6 teams with intradivisional play happening three times and out of division happening once, with playoffs in week 22 and 23 (and possibly 24)

I just want to say that in the keeper league, Bert has just astounding value on his team. He's spending $44 for the following players: Correa, Sano, Schwarber, Arenado, Donaldson, Pollock.

okay. keepers are set. they're the ones marked with a K. I hate Yahoo. This is the second time I'm going to have to back in and do it over because while it marked keepers, it deleted the costs I put in. The keeper players are correct, though.

I hope it works. The keeper system on Yahoo is exceedingly difficult to manage.

Using my projected values, I see the keeper value (projected value-keeper cost) for each team as:

Bert: +85
Lamora: +41
AGAR: +36
Zoraster: +35
D3f: +31
Rhinox: +27
Zach: +24
Anix: +0 (no keepers)
kmd: -2.33
DGB: -56.64

The vast majority of us are clustered between +24 and +41.... then there's Bert at the top, more than doubling the value Lamora has. And of course there's DGB, who's going with the studs and duds approach, paying Trout $71.

apparently the draft room doesn't open until 15 minutes before the draft time? Has this changed? I swear we've been able to get in an hour ahead of time in the past.
